Excellent product
Easy to use. Works as described. Very convenient, especially in conjunction with mobile devices without large amounts of local storage, such as iPad, iPhone, or android mobile devices. It has multiple uses that come in handy in different situations. I recently took it on a two week trip to Italy. I used to serve up a whole menu of movies to my iPad for the plane rides. I also used it to view all my pictures stored on my SDXC memory card from my digital SLR on the large iPad screen during the trip. This was handy because I could view all my photos during the trip on the large iPad screen without having to bring my laptop with me. Just a very handy tool. The one gripe I have is that backing up my digital SLR memory card to the iUSBport HD takes longer that I'd like when the drive is formatted as exFAT. I needed to format it as exFAT because some of the movie files I wanted to put on it were larger than the 4 GB FAT file system limit.

Don't waste your time
Works when you first get it, on it's default wifi setting. Gets difficult when you try to get it on home network. It cannot be found anymore.Support told me to download new firmware (it wasn't firmware, it was a simple text file), that didn't work to reset it. Then a few days later a firmware update was released (this time it was firmware). This managed to reset to default. Then when I log in and browse to "c" drive with all my movies, Safari won't scroll down to show all the files. Yes, I tried multiple computers, cables (including supplied cables). This unit is not worth your time, buy a competitors version that works right out of the box. Too many bugs.

Interesting product, but needs refinement.
The product itself is good, but a little bit dull on the material finish. The wi-fi accessing system is not practical and user friendly. Just used it about 5 to 10 times in a long run period and after a while it stopped detecting my hard drive properly.

The good, the bad, and the ugly
The good: iUSBportHD is functioning as its advertisements by HyperDrive. It seems to work great so far to provide 1.5TB of wireless storage space for my iPad. Can play movies and music and view photos from its app with ease. I have used over 500 GB for photos and it doesn't seem to slow down at all.--------The bad: There are some bugs with its App for iPad. (not sure about Android since I just have the iPad Air)(1) The "copy" function does not work.(2) The sort function is working great; however, it always go back to its manufacture default whenever the we close the app. Since its manufacture default is to sort files from Z to A, it can be very annoying for us because we have to change its sort order from A to Z (just do it once when the app is launched; as long as we don't close the app, it will sort correctly). I'm sure this bug can easily be fixed.(3) Let's say we are viewing a folder that contents a long list of sub-folders, and we navigate into one of the sub-folder further down the list (so far so good). Now, if we decide to hit the "back" button to go back to the parent/main folder, the app will put us at the top of the main folder (not at the position of the sub-folder that we previously click; usually, we want to see the sub-folder following the previous one; we don't want to have to search for our previous position every time we use the "back" function). "back" function should remember its previous position.--------The ugly: It's a cheap looking plastic case. For $159 for the case, they could have at least go with aluminum brushing.--------The conclusion: The iUSBPort HD device has great potential If they correct the three bugs that I just mention above, I will give it more than 5 stars.--------Update 5/7/2014: To communicate with this device, I'm using ES File Explorer for my Samsung Tablet and Remote File Manager for my iPad Air. It took me awhile to find an app that works well with this device. I have tried many different apps for both Samsung tablet and Apple iPad, but in the end, I'm settling for ES File Explorer and Remote File Manager. If you are looking for an app to use with this device, you should try one of these apps.

Charging port broke after 1 year of use.
I have had the iUSBPort HD for just over a year and the USB charging port just pushed back into the case.I will see if it can be repaired but it looks like this might become a brick. To bad when it was new it worked very well. I use it to backup my camera SD cards while traveling. The performance was good initially but the SD card copy times have really slowed down recently.

My only con is that the battery life is only good for about 3 hours, not 8 hours!
Works Great

broke almost immediately and no support
Bought this to use for a trip. Broke the third day. The charging insert part broke and came out. I don't know how to fix it and can't get any answers from seller. Very, very upset. Way too expensive for a paperweight.
