Good value
Two years ago I installed a Sony XAV-100 audio-video receiver in my 2002 Lincoln Continental. This receiver includes backup camera support with a video input on the back. It also has a 12v reverse input to activate the video display. I desired the backup camera capability but the challenge of routing the wire from the rear backup light to the receiver put me off. Finally, after watching enough Youtube and studying the Ford service and electrical manual, I determined how to do the job. It required partially detaching the trunk lid liner, removing the rear seat and back, removing the left door sill panels, removing the left driver kick panel, removing the driver side lower dash panel, and removing the radio. The bulk of this job was running the wire. The camera itself is really simple and small, and positions under the license plate with one of the top license plate mounting screws. I drilled a hole under the license plate to route the wire into the trunk lid (my license plate and backup lights are on the trunk lid). I only needed to drill a 1/4 inch hole because the connector on the camera cable is small. The main cable was perfect for my installation primarily because it has a power connector at both ends. At the camera end I spliced the red and black wires into my backup wiring in the trunk lid, so the camera is powered whenever I put the transmission in reverse. At the receiver end I plugged the yellow RCA plug into the receiver and attached the red wire to the reverse input of the receiver, so the receiver's backup video is activated whenever I shift into reverse. This cable was complete for my needs and I didn't need to run any other wires. The cable is 20 feet long and lucky for me, that was exactly how much I needed, nothing to spare. The video quality is pretty good during daylight, sharp and good color. At night it's OK, in color, relying on whatever ambient light is present. I still prefer this to the infrared systems that show night video in black and white. The Sony receiver puts up horizontal distance guide bars and the camera puts up vertical guide lines on the screen. I can adjust the horizontal bars to line up with the camera's vertical lines so I've decided to leave both of them. The camera lines can be disabled by snipping a wire on the cable. At $26 I think this was a great bargain and after installing it, I'm convinced it is a good value.

Inaccurate description. 480 TVL, not 600!
Adverised as 600 tvl resolution. Unit is 480. The only reason I purchased this was for 600 tvl resolution. I could have got one cheaper. Kept camera as I wanted to install one Anyways . Dissatisfied with quality, extremely grainy at night.
