I've always been fairly careful with my ears. Never really frequented the dangerously loud nightclubs in my youth. But I'm a gigging musician and playing keyboards next to a drummer's cymbals meant I had started to develop mild tinnitus by age 40 (I never thought it would happen to me either). Ironically I began to notice this at around the time I invested in in-ear monitoring which is supposed to be safer but you still need at a certain level. I'm not sure which caused it in all honestly.I have been carrying the EarPeace ear protectors for a while now. As I say, I have in-ear headphones for a lot of gigs anyway but other times I am still exposed to a live band with floor monitors etc.I have tended not to use the EarPeace ones on a gig since they mask too much of the high frequency range (even with no filters in) and I can't hear well enough to enjoy playing. So they tend to go in when packing down next to an over-exuberant DJ.I wanted some spares (I like to keep important equipment in a variety of places, so I'm never without them) and these are cheaper than the EarPeace ones but I think maybe a little more suited to playing with them in. Yet to be tested on a gig but they seem to retain a better range of frequencies and feels more like you are just turning the music down. In any case, useful to have and a cheap way of protecting your hearing even for use a little longer.Thought I would try them out before buying another pair for my son (a sax player) for xmas and I'm confident enough to do that.

These are very under whelming. Not as good as expected, uncomfortable!

I’ve worn them twice, both at gigs. stayed comfortably in my ears for hours and I was still able to hear music and conversations. Had no ringing in ears following gigs which I always get. Highly recommended for someone that likes to get amongst the noise but still cares about their ears. ...I did however loose the bottom part of the container, is it possible to get a replacement?

I work in a theatre which is a very noisy place and I need to hear perfectly. These ear buds are absolutely spot on, they dampen a lot of the damaging effects of loud music, instruments and voices and I can still hear everything.I've had them for 2 years now and they're still going strong

Firstly they fit the ear wonderfully, seem to do their job and as mentioned above, are hardly visible in-ear. Music festivals, raves, and clubs are great but I think most of us who have as of yet not picked up irreparable hearing damage and who don't intend on getting it, yet who like the atmosphere created by loud music, can agree that music is played far too loud for comfort in most cases. These under 10 pound lil angels come in so handy, and are barely visible when in-ear. They filter the sound but don't muffle it like traditional earplugs. They won't hinder you from socializing in loud environments either which is great since they simply make the sound appear a lot softer without silencing it. Either way I don't want to suck up too much to the sellers of this item but holy cow they're useful and the price is great!

Technically, these ear plugs work well - they reduce the volume but still allow detail to be received, which is essential when concert-going. however, I found the plugs to be difficult to place comfortably, and found myself fiddling with them in use.I will continue to use the plugs though, as I value the noise reduction over comfort. Next time, I will have some plugs custom-made... but I am aware of the huge cost differential.

I bought these for going to a Westlife concert in Leeds, which I knew would be loud. These earplugs worked a treat, even though I found them a bit tricky to fit into my ears initially. Once I'd got them in the right place, they were excellent though. They really did cut the sound level to an enjoyable level - avoiding that horrible shouty ringing distortion that I would have otherwise experienced in the upper midrange. The overall sound quality of the music through the earplugs was OK too - albeit somewhat bass-heavy and slightly muffled in the treble - but still far superior to what I would have experienced without the earplugs. After the concert, my hearing was fine too - no dullness in the treble, and no tinnitus.

For those that want noise isolating ear plugs, these are not for you. These still let in noise, however as a drummer this is needed to actually hear others and yourself. These are perfect for blocking enough sound, ensuring my hearing isn't damaged. Furthermore, the case, karibener and chain are a welcome bonus. For those looking for light ear protection, these are great, especially for the price, with a lot of similar products costing a lot more.
