The Picture Bible

I love this, I had a similar one in black and white, and years later found this in colour. My son loves it.It does not do all the stories, but a lot of them. More old testament than New; that bit is much shorter. We love the old one, cos its so BAD!! I love Ahab and Jezebel. My son asks for the 'old bit' when we read, he thinks that is the best bit. Definitely a book to start with, if you want to introduce the bible.But actually for pure enjoyment, not to be 'convertory!!' This book does it all. Shows the bible in glorious colour and shows truth without being heavy and pushy, but a really enjoyable way; which leads the readers to be totally engrossed and literally making friends with all the characters in the bible.

My grandson loves it easy too read and understand for younger children

I like it so much. It reminds me exactly what I read when I was young. Thank you so much. It came on time. My youngest child loves it.

Very very good cartoon version of the Bible. Somebody should print these again, and the New Testament version too. Not only suitable for children, it's good for any age. It gives a good overview of the Bible.

This Bible is very good for people of all ages. It helps to get a grip on the narrative of scripture without the weight of detail in an ordinary Bible. The flow of this version is simple and understandable and definitely prompts further study of biblical people and themes. Pictures are detailed and bright and the dialogue is engaging.

Lovely bibles which are light weight enough and small enough to hold in one hand whilst not being too small. Kind of like a bible in size. I only give 4 out of 5 because the scripture is not totally accurate (for instance the destruction of Sodom) but I believe this is done purposely for a younger audience age.I wont get into 'if this is right or wrong to change scripture,' but overall it is a way to read the bible with a different experience.

Exellent book. This edition is for age range 8-14. This book avoids the need to have violent or unessasary dramatics to tell the stories briefly in comic format. It is a great tool even for a young teanager to remind the reader of the main stories in the bile and their sequence. Also to give pearents an oportunity to explain the purpose for some of the stories being in the bible.

This is not just for kids! I got this for my Sunday school class and I read it at 48 years old and got a really good overview of the Bible. Pages are colorful and stories are well illustrated. Highly recommend for anyone at any age. And definitely get the hard cover.

Amazing version, covers the old and new testaments, with many stories in 800 pages, with conservative drawings (not like modern comic drawings) and facts and contexts around the stories, and the index has timeline and old world maps.Very comprehensive and educational, perfect for kids and even adults.

Dieses Buch darf man als Kunstwerk bezeichnen. Es ist ein sehr schwieriges Unterfangen, das Buch der Bücher zu einem "Comic" zu komprimieren. Es ist dem Illustrator wie auch dem Texter, wie ich finde, gut gelungen. Beide haben sich große Mühe gegeben. Jede einzelne Zeichnung zeugt nicht nur von viel Talent, sondern auch von Sorgfalt und Reflexion, was etwa Personen, Kleidung, Bauwerke und Landschaft angeht. Dem Texter ist es m.E. gelungen, den Stoff möglichst verlustfrei zu komprimieren.Leider ist ein solches Buch derzeit nicht auf Deutsch erhältlich. Es bietet jedoch eine gute Gelegenheit, Englisch zu lernen oder zu vertiefen. Ich habe einige Bibelausgaben, und diese ist eine ganz besondere. Ich kann allerdings keine gelehrte theologische Kritik dazu vorlegen. Das sei Anderen vorbehalten. Ich finde aber, dass diese Ausgabe auch Erwachsenen gefällig, erbaulich und unterhaltsam ist.

Questa Bibbia è molto colorata e mio figlio lo ha letto tutto. Ma gli dava fastidio che tutte le persone sono con la pelle chiara rendendola una versione poco accurata.

Comprei por recomendação do Dr. Brant Pitre e estou gostando muito! (Procurem no YT pelo vídeo onde ele comenta sobre essa obra) Gostaria muito que relançassem em português também.
