Paradise For Two Paperback – 1 Nov. 1989

I liked this story with the two aunts who were unpredictable and fussy. I did not like the main character, Prudence. She was waspish and jumped to uncharitable conclusions without first finding out facts. I did not find her at all kind-hearted but dutiful in her care of the aunts, although she is fond of them. Haso pushes her buttons and she overreacts and is pretty rude towards him. They spark animosity between them right from the start, mainly Prudence's fault.Unlike heroines in most of Betty Neels's books, Prudence, who is very pretty, is tall, well-built and with no lack of self-esteem. She wants to be swept off her feet and showered with roses, diamonds and champagne, which, she admits to Haso in a rare moment of congeniality, is not at all realistic.The story itself is interesting with descriptions of the various places through which they travel. Betty Neels had a knack of bringing places to life with the way she portrayed them. Such a pity she is no longer with us to write more of these charming romances that do not require ghastly sex scenes to make them enjoyable.

Another one of Betty Neels successful novels,just as a good romance story should be. The beauty of her work was that she one by one turned out novels that one could believe in! They seemed to be so true to life and that also applied to the characters she created. A pleasure to read and enjoy to the last word !!!!!!!

Pure escapism to a time that probably didn’t exist. Typical Betty Neels and despite the usual hapless, dim heroine very enjoyable.

As all her books are enjoyable interesting with many twists and turns to make her stories enjoyable without having the reader reading a. lot of needless rubbish.

Very good

As with all of the Betty Neels books, this one was a great read. At no point did this book become boring, hard to read, drag, or anything of the sort. I have to say, I think it's one of the better ones I have read. Prudence is a very sweet girl who is also very independent. Haso acts like a jerk through most of the story, but you get a lot of hints that he really isn't. He's like any other man who loves the women in his family. He's protective and he does everything he can to make sure they are taken care of. The book moves along really well, and it's actually kind of a surprise when it ends. It isn't abrupt. It's just a big surprise that it comes when it does. I loved this book. I believe others will too.

Very good book, for once none I'd the family has to die to move along the plot. It was a good book I've come back to reread
