MAGIX Photostory Deluxe - Version 2018: Create slideshows the easy way

I am very disappointed with this program. Unlike previous incarnations this is difficult to manipulate and each function takes so long that a slideshow which, on other versions I could have made in a day, now take a week or more. I would like support from Magix, but I cannot find how. The support website is no help.

Very good value lots of tutorials wich help get the best of the dvd .

I thought this would be useful,but there are so many free options you can use to do the same thing,it's not really worth spending the extra money,time and effort on this.I have offered it free to friends,but they are not interested.I really don't think it's worthwhile getting this.

I like the idea of the product, but in common with a number of reviewers, I couldn't get it to install.

I got this as I wanted something more sophisticated than PowerPoint to make some nice slide shows.It was a free product to try and test...BUT... I can’t get it to load on my laptop!So I’m unable to state anything other than it won’t load...so it’s useless!

I'm finding this program hard going. If just a simple slide show is required then it works well enough - even if it is a bit jerky - but why pay good money for something that is probably already included with windows or whatever OS is your preference.To do anything more complicated is a chore: the video tutorials are difficult to find and follow, and the key strokes to achieve anything worth having are far too numerous.I have tried the program for several hours on top of the almost 60 minutes to install - and this on an i7 with 128Gigs of memory and a 1080 video card- it did include an extensive update but even so that is an inordinate length of time for an install. It also takes a long time to load photos and process, I found myself getting bored before I got any meaningful results. It is totally unintuitive in operation.I use Photodex Proshow Gold for holiday photo stories and the for the occasional wedding, when I was offered the chance to review Magix Photo Story I was very interested in comparing what is a cheaper - although not that much cheaper - program with Photodex, which I now consider a far superior product.My opinion, for what its worth, is if you want to put your photo's and video's in a story board format that can be transferred to and used from a CD/DVD/Bluray, then spend a few extra quid and get a program like Photodex Proshow that works more intuitively.I will give this another coat of looking at, but I doubt if my opinion will change.JC

Works expertly although feels a little lacking in build quality. Can't fault it for functionality though, no sir. Perfectly functional.

Very slow and painful to install on a fairly new Windows 10 PC. Intended for use by my teenage daughter, it doesn’t have the wow-factor she was expecting. It may be more useful for somebody uploading images from a proper camera, but my daughter uses her smartphone and claims that this doesn’t do much more than the apps she already has on her phone. It may be a generational thing because apparently desktop software is so last year!However, although I use a smartphone camera most of the time, I also use a bridge camera ‘the old fashioned way’. It’s also great for making slideshows from old archived digital photos from when the children were little. Sure, not at your fingertips (literally) like a smartphone, but certainly easier to use on a big screen.
