This is a Nikki carburetor with antibackfire solenoid. It will replace the common Walbro . Details models: For B&S 20HP Craftsman LT1000, 16 HP OHV Intek Engine Carb, Nikki carb 697203 on 18hp B&S Craftsman, 15.5 HP B&S mower, 14.5 HP Briggs I/C engine, Murray tractor mower model # 405000X8C with a 13.5 HP B&S Carburetor, B&S 14-20hp Sabre Scotts 1642HS 1742HS S1742 Tractor Lawn Mower. Review: It works - I was very sceptical about using this carburettor as I had no faith in it. However it is working perfectly and so far after a few uses no issue with it. Time will tell if it continues to work but for the price it’s a bargain compared to the original Nikki. Changes to part number and differing formats between UK and US made it difficult but the images on the sellers website and details about the items it was compatible with were invaluable. The engine is a good quality Briggs & Stratton, but their replacement cost c£90. This is a generic part but fitting was an absolute doddle and we fired up first time. No idea of the likely lifespan but for <£20 it was a no brainer.

It works
I was very sceptical about using this carburettor as I had no faith in it. However it is working perfectly and so far after a few uses no issue with it. Time will tell if it continues to work but for the price it’s a bargain compared to the original Nikki.

cheap replacement
put on my ride on mower, cheap but works

Fitted to John Deere L100 and works fine
Was having misfire problems on L100 mower and tests showed issue with fuel. Decided to replace Carburetor as most likely cause of the problem. New Carburetor came with all the bits and just a swap over and didn't need any adjustment. 10 min fit and now runs better than it has for years -started first time. Ordered Sat arrived early afternoon Sunday - just in time to get the grass cut... happy days
