Perfect for working heavy leather or stringing heavy beads and making chokers of horn.
It is important for me to be able to split these waxed threads because I use them in sewing beads to leather. The wax protects the thread from cutting and the polyester is tough and doesn't stretch. However, Tandy has one that is easier to split, this one from the Leather Factory is perfect for thick hard leathers for shoe repair or making. I also use it for making buffalo horn choker necklaces. The dark color is perfect for the dark beads. Another thing I like is that it fits the Sewing Awl needle without struggle! Always great for a lady who often struggles with such and easy task for most!.

Quality
Extremely strong and fine thread. I used this to sow some leather pouches together for practice in hand-making leather crafts. I am no expert, and only a starter, but I can say from my current experience that this thread has worked perfect for my needs.

Is this useable?
the spool arrived and I saw it had been sliced by a razor - or something very sharp, so the first layers of thread were unusable- they were all in pieces of only three or four inches! I had to take the first three or four layers off to get to the thread that hadn't been sliced!

Great for titching leather together
I keep this handy for when I need to sew lleather back together. It has worked great in the past and now I have it for those times that I might need it, now. G.Goff

Good quality
Unfortunately a lot of beads I have have too small of holes for this. It's pretty sticky too. But it feels strong like it be tough to break. Not a bad buy and I'm sure I can find another way to use this or get beads with bigger holes:)
