nel 1977, presentati da un'amica comune, harry burns e sally albright partono insieme da chicago in automobile con destinazione new york. nelle 18 ore di viaggio, benche' harry sia il ragazzo di un'amica di lei e si dimostri saccente e antipatico, un'evidente simpatia li attrae. sally pero' non intende assolutamente far torto all'amica, tanto piu' con un tipo come harry, la cui tesi, ripetuta e ribadita in mille toni diversi, e' che tra uomo e donna non puo' mai esservi amicizia, poiche' sempre e comunque interviene il sesso. arrivati a new york, i due si perdono di vista per rincontrarsi poi all'aeroporto due anni dopo. lei ha un fidanzato, joe, di cui e' innamorata e lui sta per sposarsi con helen. i due pero' sono destinati ad incontrarsi ancora una volta dopo altri cinque anni, entrambi single e con tanta voglia di confidarsi con qualcuno. e' in questo momento che, senza volerlo, diventano amici. i due iniziano a vedersi, si telefonano nel cuore della notte, si fanno confidenze, vanno spesso al cinema e a cena, si presentano a vicenda i rispettivi migliori amici, jess e marie, ottenendo soltanto che questi si trovino attraenti e si sposino. sono felici cosi', con a fianco una persona a cui poter confidare qualsiasi cosa senza implicazioni sentimentali, anche se la presenza di altre persone li rende entrambi estremamente gelosi. quando poi sally scopre che joe sta per sposare un'altra persona, chiama immediatamente harry perche' corra a consolarla. e' allora che lei capisce quanto lui sia importante. ma quanto ci mettera' lui a rendersene conto?

The disc offers purchasers with suitable replay equipment a significant improvement over the previous DVD version.
This Italian version of this very popular and amusing film is easy to access even for those who are not fluent Italian speakers. The key is to locate the English subtitle option and the easiest way to do this is to use the handset. This is not always thought of and will save working out what is meant by the Italian option on screen. The handset option will produce the off and language options on the top left of the screen. For English viewers choose the 'off' option as the film is in English like the American edition.Otherwise ......For all of those who are keen supporters of this film and who have bought the previous DVD version of this disc, the only issue of vital importance will be whether the Blu-ray offers an improvement technically sufficient to justify the additional expense.For this reviewer the answer is a clear affirmative. The upgrade offers a clear advance on both image and audio quality with the imaging being a marked improvement. The colours are firmer and there is an increase to the perceived depth of the imaging. The whole film simply becomes more 'real.'The degree of improvement will also depend on the replay equipment used. In this case the audio could be described as markedly 'high-end' both in hardware terms and in connecting cabling. The television, a more important factor in this case, is of moderate dimensions being a 40 inch screen. It is a high performing 4K unit though which will also have had a positive effect. (Larger screens become increasingly compromised in delivering sharp DVD imaging unless larger viewing distances are available. Sharpness is achieved at much closer distances for Blu-ray discs).Readers with alternative equipment will have to interpret this review bearing in mind their own equipment and its comparative advantages and disadvantages.The disc offers purchasers with suitable replay equipment a significant improvement over the previous DVD version.

Looks fab and as good as ever!
I won;t review the film itself, except to say it's fabulous. The bluray version looks and sounds great and is definitely worth upgrading from DVD I think, which is what I have done.
