Good Stool for the Money
I love this stool for what I needed it for. Is it the ultimate stool ever? No. But for what I needed it for, it is great and at a decent price, it is a keeper.Assembly was straight forward. However, realize you may need a rubber mallet to get the top ring around the legs. I tried everything I could to slide the (top) ring by hand, but no way could I without the rubber mallet. The bottom ring I didn't have issues sliding onto the legs. I had no issues with bad or missing hardware as others have commented on.Yes the cushion isn't cushy soft, as in like sitting on a couch. But for me, once you get use to it, its fine. If your use to sitting on cushy stuff everywhere and when you sit, then it will be something for you to get use to. I use my stool in the garage. Great for sitting at the work bench, etc. If you planning on sitting on this stool for hours on end, you may want to pay a lot more for a different stool. The build quality of the stool is fantastic. It is solid and sturdy. Perfect height too. If I needed another one, I would not hesitate purchasing again.

Best seat in the house
This was a fantastic product. The instructions were the absolute best of any product I have purchased that required assembly. I cannot put into words how exceptionally clear it was to assemble this stool, and the quality of everything seems great. My old caveat is the stool has a slight wobble that I cannot account for, but I haven't ruled out the floor where I have it is uneven. Since these wonderful stools are made in America, I would like to suggest you perhaps change to foot pad design to use some kind of screw in glides that could be height adjusted. For the price, these are absolutely remarkable. The quality of the covering, whatever material it is, seems durable, smooth, soft and well installed. The weight of the stool is light enough to move, but heavy enough to feel solid. It shows no sign of stress under my 225 pounds, and I wouldn't have any feel if someone much larger were to sit on it. The swivel is functional but tight enough to keep kids from getting on it and spinning around for fun. The leg rung position seems to be just right. I got the blue one to keep with the Seahawk color theme I have going on in the room where I placed it. The color is a vibrant primary color blue, not shocking but very pleasant and clean looking. Took 20 minutes to assemble including unboxing time.

It really is a solid, commercial grade swivel bar stool.
Five stars. Great deal. Delivery was very quick. All the parts were there. Assembly was easy and straight-forward. (If you have a power drill and ratchet set, it really speeds things up.) All the pieces fit properly (with a little coercion). Finished construction is very sturdy and solid. The black seat cushion rotates and has a tight friction fit. Some reviewers complained about the hard cushion seat. It is true that the cushion is very hard (I'm guessing about 1/2-3/4 inch cushioning material), but I'm ok with that. If you think it's too hard, you can always put a small pillow between you and the bar seat cushion. The black vinyl material that covers the seat seems durable enough. The only negative that I noticed (during assembly) was that the bar stool that I received had some small blemishes/discoloration/stains on the chrome legs. But I judged the imperfections minor and not really noticeable, so I can live with it.

Not as comfortable as hoped, but it seems to be a keeper
This is an initial review written after sitting on the stool for ten minutes, to be updated if I find there are any functional problems with the stool. I'd probably give this stool a 4.5 right now, if I could, but definitely not a 5, so 4 it is.I've been looking for a sturdy, _comfortable_ stool for a couple years--I am a small store owner and my employees are tough on my behind-the-counter stools. I've tried wooden stools, metal stools, expensive pneumatic seats, just about everything. So this is a review based on experience with many other bar-height stools and chairs.Comfort:When I saw the photo of this stool, I thought it would have a good 3-4 inches of padding. I wondered why, in the photos, the seat didn't appear to be compressing under the people sitting in it. I should have read the reviews more carefully. The seat is HARD, but not as hard as the Craftsman stool I am replacing. After sitting here for ten minutes, I'm not in pain, but it's not the comfy seat I expected. It is nice that it doesn't have a back, so people of all sizes can sit on it. I have employees ranging from scrawny to rather hefty, so this has been an issue with some of the stools/chairs I've tried.Assembly:I noticed that some people mentioned the stool is difficult to put together. I can't comment on this personally--I took one rare half-day off work and came back to find the stool behind the counter this morning. It must not have been overly difficult, my employees managed it without even mentioning it to me... but they're pretty resourceful.Height:This stool is TALL! It's the tallest "bar height" stool I've purchased so far by at least a couple inches. I believe the other stools have been around 28" rather than 30", and I'm surprised by the difference two inches makes. I'm 5'3" with longish legs for my height and while sitting completely on the stool I can't reach the ground. My feet do fit comfortably on the bottom rung, though. If I were much shorter, I think I would have a little trouble climbing onto the stool. I initially thought the sitting height would be about the same because the seat would compress, but as mentioned above, it does not do so at all. The height is actually a positive for me, because the 28" stools I've been buying haven't given me quite enough height to easily see over the register monitor.Stability:As a business owner, I'm concerned about liability issues, so as I've been sitting here, I've been swaying back and forth a bit to test the stool's stability. So far it is very stable and I have no concerns about it tipping over under normal use. Our last stool, the above-mentioned Craftsman, had issues with the detachable feet coming off the legs and my employees would joke about it being the death of them one day. This stool's legs are just rubber caps, so I expect they'll stay on nicely.Swivel:The swivel functionality wasn't a requirement for a stool for my purposes, but it's nice. So far it swivels fairly smoothly and without trouble. I do feel some very minor vibration, though (from the ball bearings?), so I wonder if that will be a problem in the future.Overall:This stool seems to be of high quality at this time. If the seat were more comfortable, it would be a solid five right now, in March 2016. If you're reading this past late-2016 and I haven't updated it, then it means the stool has lasted at least that long. I like it enough right now that if my employees don't complain about it, I'll buy another one.

!!! EVERYTHING I HOPED FOR ! FABULOUS !!!
I ordered this bar stool in February. Kudos to this company's customer service for immediately rectifying my mistake of ordering the wrong color! They actually checked the shipping instructions and replaced the item with the right color. When the kitchen stool arrived, once again, I couldn't be more pleased. The stool was well worth the price! It looks so nice. In fact, it is solid, sturdy, attractive and looks more expensive than what I paid for. It is very comfortable as well. We decided to order another one today. This stool can be used for a variety of things. We use it in the kitchen at the center island. I don't normally give reviews but it feels so great when I get a good deal :-D
