Herb for Men Mustache & Beard Dye (Dark Brown, 1 Pack)

So glad I found this stuff! I was about to give up on dying my goatee all together due to the skin irritation I developed using store bought JFM. Never had skin irritation for years then suddenly I began getting redness and itchy skin wherever I applied JFM. I tried this stuff and no more redness and skin irritation! I can’t speak for others, but for me it lasts the same length of time as JFM. UPDATE: I’ve been using this stuff for a while now. Couple of things to clarify on some other reviews on here…#1, this does not “wash” off. Never have I ever seen any dye on my white shower towels after wiping my face. #2, have realistic expectations. If you’re all gray or mostly gray (me), every time your facial hair grows those new hairs will probably be gray. And we shave the unwanted facial hair every day or other day, so of course it will appear to not last as long as someone who is only starting to gray and hair regrowth for that guy is still mostly brown. #3, this does not dye your hair purple. When you wash the dye off it goes into the sink purple, but your hair will not be purple too. #4, even after you dye, if you’re mostly gray you will still have a few hairs leftover that turn light brown instead of dark brown. They’re not gray, but not completely dark brown. Just have realistic expectations and you’ll be fine. The key benefit with this stuff is no allergic reaction and only 20 minutes total time.

I got this based on other reviews that said it does not irritate your skin. I currently use a plant based powder beard dye that works well, but you have to leave it on your face for like an hour to get any real color and it only lasts a few days. This product seemed to be a solution as you only leave it on for like 20 mins and no irritation. As the instructions said (and as I have learned the hard way in the past) I did a test on my skin before applying to my beard. I picked a spot on my inner bicep as that area can be sensitive. After the allotted time, I washed off the dye to see a dark purple stain on my arm. I scrubbed with warm water and soap to no avail. No way was I putting this on my face if it stains my skin! Avoid this product, or at least test it before use.

I was using the Fat Joe beard dye to even out some gray and make the beard pop. It was going well for a while then I got contact dermatitis with oozing rashes on my chin. So I needed to get something without PPD. So far I’ve had no issues with this and making sure I followed the directions my beard is not purple. Unless something crazy happens later this will be my go to beard dye.

I have very sensitive skin, and every conventional beard dye has caused me literal chemical burns on my face. I found one that was plant based, and did work, but it involves a 2 hour process with this thick paste on your face that dries to crumbly bits and gets everywhere. It didn't bother my skin but it was a big pain to do. I searched more and found the Herb brand and decided to give it a try because per the instructions it works in about 20 minutes or so. I was skeptical and prepared to deal with more injuries but I wanted to at least see. I'm happy to report that I've used it twice now and haven't had any skin issues either time. Application is with 2 different creams, you apply the first one and wait 10 minutes, then apply the second one over the first. It will turn dark immediately, then you wait 10 more minutes or so and wash out. It's much quicker than my previous solution and works well. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is that sometimes the coverage is spotty. I'm still learning the nuances of how to apply both creams consistently, so it might be user error but the instructions should cover this more thoroughly. Other than that I'm happy with this product and will continue to use it.

Turned my hair purple

First time using and I must say will be using instead of just 4 beards that left my face itching under my beard and mustache for 2 weeks after use because it has PPD in it. 2 weeks later after using this no itch at all. The color doesn't stay as long even shampooing with recommended product. But not having to deal with the itch, priceless. edit: WENT TO ORDER AGAIN 45 DAYS LATER AND NOW $3 HIGHER!!!! I HOPE YOU READ THIS AMAZON BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME YOU JACK UP THE PRICE TO REPURCHASE A ITEM AND ALSO HIGHER WHEN LOOKING AT ITEMS AND WHEN YOU HAVE PRIME. HOW DO I KNOW THIS? I GO INTO AN ACCOUNT OTHER THAN MINE AND THERES A PRICE DIFFERENCE THAT IS THE SAME AS ORIGINAL...... I HOPE YOU READ THIS AMAZON, BECAUSE NOW IM NOT REORDERING HERE BASED ONLY ON PRICIPLE, BET I CAN FIND IT ON EBAY

Waste of money. Does not dye at all. Don’t waste your money or time on this.

I had tried three different products before and experienced allergic reactions with all of them, but I didn't have any issues with this one; I definitely recommend it.
