Brand new studio album from America's #1 Rock Band. This is follow up to the #1 debut album Faceless. Their First single, 'Speak', breaks all records at Active Rock radio with the highest chart debut since Metallica June '03! Godsmack IV co-produced by classic rock legend Andy Johns (Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones).

G O D S M A C K - IV - the voodoo that they doo
Godsmack, the boston rockers are back! and their new album is so much more of the same, but twisted!for IV, Godsmack chose to add a 'bluesey' feel to their songs, and with certain songs such as 'shine down' fulfilling that, their new album doesnt dissapoint.true the songs can be slower and less heavy than their previous outings, but it shows that Godsmack are trying to move away from the metal rock scene they have helped dominate stateside for so long.many reviews i have come across have been unfair and harsh towards Godsmack IV, but only because they dont fullt understand what Godsmack are trying to do, Sully's does not have limited vocal talent and the album is different from many toher rock albums, 'shine-down' has a harmonica solo in it for crying out loud!the songs themselves are excellent, the opener 'livin' in sin' is fantastic, and the single 'speak' and the fast paced 'the enemy' make for good listening. the songs that truly make the album glow in my opinion are: 'No rest for the wicked' , 'Voodoo too' , 'the enemy' and 'livin' in sin. all are hard and heavy but with excellent guitar riffs and strong vocals, with unbeatable rythme.Godsmack IV is another breakthrough for the multi-platinum certified Godsmack, which brings them closer to a huge fanbase in Europe, which they already have in the States.

keep on going
godsmack always felt to me like they were always living in the shadow of alice in chains and up to this point had done very little to escape it.acknowledged the previous albums were erratically brilliant and in faceless they wrote the best album metallica never got around to making but again they still seemed to be struggling to be themselves......but here they have done that and more.yet again they have tweeked their sound slightly and evolved a little more into a fully fledged heavy rock bandthe guitars are lower in the mix but the licks are still killer and sully puts in a fantastic performanceits still pretty damned heavy but there is more groove to this work than previously and it softens the blow of the guitars and as usual the melodies flow beautifully and every song has a hook to die forok so it isn't as immediate as the previous albums but it does feel ultimately more rewarding with repeated spinsoverall > very very good album from a band that look sadly like they will never break it over here
