Making the perfect Panini
I love this. Makes great sandwiches and Panini's in a matter of minutes and it's simple and safe to use. I haven't done the Waffles much yet, but they are really good too. Very easy to make. The trays are easy to remove and clean, with very little leakage and it stores away nicely.

Finally, a decent sandwich maker
I've owned two sandwich makers before this one. My most recent one bought from a high street melted itself, so this time round I wanted to go with a reputable brand. And Philips have delivered. There are nice QOL features like an on/off switch, so you don't cause any arching on the plug when unplugging it. The sandwich maker can be stood upright and the cable can be routed. The plates are deeper than my previous maker, so it takes very little effort to cut the sandwiches. Likewise, when the bread overfills, the crust peels away. Yes, the sandwich maker is slightly too small, but that's mostly because toast bread in the UK is larger than in other countries - it's the same with toasters, not once have I owned a toaster that toasts the entire bread without needing to flip it. You can find smaller toast bread though. It also gets hotter than my previous sandwich maker, which means that after a minute or so, the bread is nicely toasted, instead of soggy. By the cable route, the sticker says Philips Domestic Appliances, so presumably this sandwich maker was designed before the Domestic division of Philips had been sold off, and it shows, as this unit is quality. Yes, it will smell on the first 2 times you use it. That's normal for any heating appliance, whether that's a new oven or a new air fryer.

Happy with my toastie maker
It’s definitely much easier to clean than any other toastie maker I’ve ever had. For some reason when I try to make gluten free waffles they always turn cardboard-like but I can’t tell if that’s because of the machine or because of my recipe 😀. I’ve seen that some people have complained about the machine here in the reviews but personally I can’t really pinpoint anything wrong with it in particular, for me it works at it should. Probably not the absolutely best toastie maker in the world but I really like the idea that you can switch between the plates and wash them - it solves the issue of having a greasy smelly toastie maker that you can never quite clean just with a tissue. I have never washed the plates with anything else other than dish soap and the soft side of a dish washing sponge and so far nothing had gotten scratched. 😊 I would probably avoid washing it with the rough side of a sponge but that’s just my opinion. PS: Everything I have ever made in the toastie maker was gluten free so maybe it works a bit different with regular bread.

Don't use frozen bread
It's a great little sandwich toaster. You can safely squeeze the handles together to close the unit providing the bread is not grossly overfilled, but DON'T do this with frozen bread! You will break the handles. (I actually, foolishly, did this but managed to repair with glass fibre)

Disappointed
Very good while it lasted but stopped working after three months use. Complete Waste of Money.

Reliable toaster (that can also do other things)
Come with like a grill and waffle iron but the main feature is the sandwich toast. Works incredibly well, reliable, and tasty. I have actually bought this several times to have in different places. Having tried alternatives, there is none as reliable as this. The instructions tells you to warm up the iron first, but in my experience it doesn't matter. Pop in the bread, cheese and whatever meat and out comes a steaming warm toast. The only disadvantage is physics. Because the toasts are so hot and humid, if you place the toast down outside of the toaster, steam will condense and make the toast soggy. Thought I can't blame the toaster for that.

Presa INGLESE !
Attenzione ! La presa è inglese !! Bisognerà comprare un adattatore … non è corretto per un cliente che compra dall’Italia

Does what it says and easily stowed away
Perfect little sandwich maker which does its job just fine. Ensure to wash all plates before first use. The plates are smaller than my older model of this maker so your bread will hang out of the front and sides if you're using a standard sliced pan. Good also fo paninis and waffles are quick and don't stick so all good there too. It's easy to stack away in a cupboard and is a good little appliance for the price so you can't really go too far wrong!
