Perfect!
I wanted a windscreen that would work well for plosives but look better than the plain foam one that came with my gooseneck mic and this one has fit the bill perfectly! It comes with the smallest Allen wrench I've ever seen so that you can screw the windscreen in place on the end of the mic, which works well but don't lose track of that wrench or the screw, since they are TINY! Definitely reduces plosives and doesn't color the sound too much. It looks great on the mic and gives a really polished overall feel to the setup.

wind screen
I found this to be a good product as long as you tighten up the set screw that holds it on.to the mic cartridge. It is more durable than the foam pop filter. Unless you need the pop filter this is the one to get. It does reduce the pop and is not obtrusive.

Great addition to mx412's
Even though these are for the microflex line I put them on Shure lectern mics for a more robust solution and quality look.

Better than the foam that came stock when new!
Better than what comes on the Shue new! very easy to change with the included allen wrench. I only changed this out when the original foam deteriorated with time. I wish I had changed this out years ago, Much better product than that foam and I have not had a breath pops I had in the past. I like it!

No difference.
The Shure Microflex microphone is great, but it's sensitive. You have to be careful what you say around it. It's very susceptible to 'plosions, and this is supposed to reduce them. Well...I couldn't tell a difference between this and the stock foam windscreen. It does look good, and it is probably more durable, but I sent mine back since it didn't really work that well. I may just rig up a hidden lavaliere mic and switch to that (via mixer board) when speakers get too close.

Shure's Hidden Secret
The SHURE website said as a last resort, this metal windscreen might eliminate the clipping sound I heard in a 1996 MX412. Only one person had the ability to clip this mic with dual foam windscreens on, being some 12 inches away. The pastor. The problem instantly went away by trading this wire screen for foam. Who knew?

Very good replacement for the foam ones!
Very sturdy windscreen. Great replacement for the foam ones that fall off or eventually disintegrate.
