I installed this on my char-broil pellet smoker. Since then I have used it many times over 4 month. Still working good. Seems to be better then oem.

'What I liked most' was the ? = well, decent price, fast ship & 'improved model' were all considerations in the purchase, plus it was listed as fitting my model pellet smoker. However, after struggling like most of us have trying to replace one of these in tight conditions and finally getting it installed and then firing it up it decided to run amok on smoke level P4 and temps shot up to near 400 degrees while only set at 250. It would not tone down, just kept getting higher with more smoke billowing out. I turned the smoke level down to P2 and temp started to drop. I turned the whole unit OFF, let it cool down completely & tried again only to find it must have burned itself out as it would not ignite at all with 70 degrees flashing on the display. I should have returned it but for $20 decided NOT worth the ship back hassle etc and just purchased another model from another manufacturer that is on it's way now. Actually, very typical of my luck with such things....such is life

This heating rod fit right into my Char-griller pellet smoker. Great fit and the right plug, but however the control panel threw an error code every time it has been plugged in. Item does not work in my Char-grilled pellet smoker

I ordered this to replace the original igniter that lasted about a year. It fit perfectly and worked great for about 14 months. This morning the fire rod would not heat up, so I guess it died. I live in Florida and it's terribly humid here, so the humidity and oxidation may have contributed to the failure. I just ordered another and will see how long this one lasts. Typically, we smoke food about 8-12 times a year, so I hope to get a little longer burn time with this one.
