Picks up the tiniest things! Jewelry, chips, anythings
The media could not be loaded. Except a baby, these will not pickup a baby and offer neck support. It is not a super sturdy design, I would not let my grand kids play with it, but it’s been so helpful the past 3 months, and I am sure much longer. I’ve even used Clorox wipes pinched in to wipe up hair in the bathroom, for some reason I’m shedding a lot of hair.I keep one in my bedroom and one near my kitchen and office. Picks up tissues, pens, almost any item I have dropped. I had back surgery and was not able to bend more than 90 degrees, and this saved me, even though my husband said “leave it, I will get it” it’s nice to have something clever to assist when needed. Now if I could find one for weeding.

Lightweight, cheap, effective.
At first glance, they seem flimsy. But I picked up something heavy and they bent and did not break. I could also pick up cigarette butts off the ground. Easy to grab a box off top shelf of cupboard so it’s great to help so no ladder or step stool climbing with many things. Foldable is good, plus it has a hole in the handle so just one nail and you can hang it on any wall. Still useful after a few years of use. I used it yesterday when I couldn't reach the shop light pull cord because something was in the way and I didn't want to move what was in the way. It is a very handy item to have at my disposal.

Very flimsy, but they do the job.
When I thought about buying a trash grabber, I always think I want something that feels solid and powerful. But using these, I realized that what I really want is ease of use. These are sort of flimsy, but that reduces the effort to extend them, squeeze on a piece of trash, pull it to my trash bag, release it, and extend them again. If I'm not careful, I put too much strain on the hinge, and it flexes and the arm doubles back. I have to pause, reset the arm to its full length, and resume, reminding myself to watch what I'm doing.Once I fall into a rhythm, it's faster and less effort to use these, even if I have to be careful, than to use stronger grabbers with less flex. I think there's a parallel to fly-fishing: you don't really want tackle and line that is strong but heavy. You want the lightest gear that will do the job.As a result, I suppose these wear out faster than a heavier grabber would. But if you're going to pick up a lot of light trash, these are what I'd recommend. It's prioritizing ease of use over robustness.

Took a good thing and made it in to crap so they can sell it to you again and again
These are okay but not as good as they used to be they have a hinge in the middle of them so you can fold them, as if you would ever want to do that! The hinge is just a weak point that is . made of weak plastic that breaks making you need to buy more, I guess that is their plain all a long? I have to use gerila tape to attach another rod to them to stiffen up the useless hinge. before they break yet again. I say yet again because I have had them many times before they always break right at the hing. And The ones they made in the past had soft suction cups on them, and they worked much, much, much better for grabbing on to things, these have hard, stiff suction cups that are very difficult to grab on to anything. Someone needs to go back to making them with soft suction cups, and without the weak ass hinge that just breaks. And put these clowns out of business! Must be made in China crap.

Great product
My mom worked in Occupational Therapy for many years, and she introduced me to the “Reacher.” I have used several different kinds over the years, but this one is my favorite. It is pretty strong and durable. I use it often to avoid having to constantly bend over to pick up items as well as reach items on the top shelf of my cabinets and closets. It is a great piece of adaptive equipment to assist in avoiding constant strain and potential energy to your body. It is very good for individuals who are elderly or have a limited range of motion. I also like that it folds for easy storage. It has a lock mechanism that allows it to be stronger, but the lock does take a significant amount of strength to lock it. I would definitely recommend it 1000%.

Potentially harmful
There is an 'on off' sliding button - 'on' meaning the grabbers are straight, sturdy and ready to grab. The button is just a loose sliding piece of plastic that doesn't do much of anything. The grabbers can not grab anything for multiple reasons - they are so flimsy that the minute you reach towards something with them, they collapse and fold before you're even near anything. And, what should have been rubbery-suction-like tips at the end are just disks of shiny, slick plastic - the opposite of a rubbery, friction kind of surface that could grab. The ends are a mute point because the thing folds shut / collapses if you even begin any motion. Nothing about this item works. It's one thing to not be helpful or work. But equally opposite, there is something potentially quite harmful. The grabbers have 2 bowed pieces of metal sticking out on both sides of the lower part. Those pieces have very long, thin, sharp edges. There are 8 total edges of thin metal for each side but 4 edges that stick up on the top surface when folded. These edges are not quite as sharp as a razor blade but sharp enough that if someone just blindly grabs at these and their hand slides down any of these edges on these metal arches, that could be quite a laceration. I had to be very, very careful maneuvering them (I had 2 grabbers which made 16 edges to not touch) back into their tight-fitting plastic baggie so as not to cut myself. It is pretty shocking that these could be sold in their condition. Not just worthless, but potentially harmful. Almost worse were all the ironies. It's one thing that nothing works and is completely worthless - but instead, it is exactly the direct opposite. Damn you, irony. BTW, Walmart has these, similar price, they're sturdy and the end is soft rubber cups. I have one but wanted more. I bought what looked very similar on Amazon because I didn't want to pay a delivery fee to Walmart or go to the store (since these are in the store and aren't shipped from somewhere else). One last irony :)) - I didn't place a pick-up order at Walmart because I didn't want to drive there, I had to box up these grabbers (with great caution), get a return code and drive to UPS. Again, damn you irony!

It's a very handy tool.
If you can not bend it down then this one is very handy to pick up lots of things from the floor.

Very weak. One month life.
The folding joint is all plastic. It can easily break with higher loads. The steel cable gets stretched and then grip becomes weak. Locking is annoying feature. For for scissor based pickup tool or tong available here.

LOUSY PRODUCT
I think Amazon should not allow such sub standard product to be sold on this platform. Thoroughly useless. To be avoided at any cost

Very flimsy construction, and one of two in the package arrived damaged
Not at all what I expected from photo description. VERY flimsy and one of the 2 in the package arrived damaged and needs replacement. I'd be surprised if this lasted more than a week's use. Not worth the price. Am returning.
