Haunted Paperback – 21 April 2017

I don't usually have such a emotional responds to a book of these sorts as the book is fiction, but I actually found that I felt anger and sadness reading some parts of this book. It was brilliantly written as I find most of Amy Cross's books are. As a mother I found some parts were very distressing to even think about, and I felt actually angry reading parts of this book which as I said is not my usual responds. Any body with a sensitive disposition should take care reading this as it can be quite upsetting in my opinion. But all in all an excellently written book in how it covered a very sensitive subject!

If you like ghosty horrors then this is a must.this is the first Amy cross book I've read and once started I couldn't put it down.the story had me wanting to know the truth and it wasn't an ending you could predict.haunted is a must read 😁

One of the best books I have read in years!!! Amy Cross merits an award of literature in the type of books she is so-so-so good at writing. Where does she get her ideas from for this and many other books. Carry on writing and I will definitely carry on reading!!

I've read a lot of Amys books and I think this has become one of my faves. A simple story of a lady trying to recover memories of a tragic childhood event mixed with a dash of ghost story = winning combo.

Another mediocre story by Amy Cross.She has some really good ideas for stories but her writing ruins them.Also desperately needs a proof reader.BookEater

Loved this book.. Very well written and loved the characters especially Alex and her father Sheriff Blaine..All the characters were well written and what a twist at the end......

Too much dribble had to skip page after page as she ranted on and on not my idea of a good read

I find Amy Cross' novels a bit hit and miss but when she's good she's sensational, and this was one of those times!The story had me hooked from the very first word until the last and the story told from various viewpoints and times made for well paced, exciting reading. As a mother the description of the initial crime sickened me, so fair warning to all, but it highlighted how truly perverted those who tried to cover up what really happened were. It's hard to describe more without beginning to give spoilers away but suffice to say the final reveal did shock me a little. A gripping, haunting (pun definitely intended) novel that I highly recommend.

Excellent story about an innocent family, gruesome murders and a bunch of corrupt politicians that spans 20 years. Amy Cross's writing style is so good! I love how she writes about the past, then the present, then the past, then the present and so on until all the pieces fall together in an amazing climax! All of her books are fantastic but this is one of my favourites!! I used to read only Stephen King and Dean Koontz but Amy Cross is now my go to gal for horror. Thanls Amy! So glad I found you!!!

Love the books. All of them. My only criticism is every character in every book is always going on about the mind playing tricks when confronted with a ghost. It's so repetitive in every book it becomes frustrating. just once, it would be nice if the character believes seeing a ghost than going through 3/4 of the book and finally they believe! Other than that, love her books,

I had a hard time putting this book down. Awesome read ! I strongly suggest it to anyone who enjoys ghost stories.

I read ghost stories for fun, and for really scary bits. But knowing something about material matter vs what might be "another dimension", and having actually sensed ghosts, unfortunately here the ghost part is taken too far. The last 30% of the story is simply ridiculous -- ghosts cannot harm the living, but only scare the living daylights out of them. Also, eventually the novel had too many holes in the story ... A man is shot, but apparently the body is either not found (impossible, really) and the perpetrator apparently walks free. And how did old X manage to get a body all by itself to a cabin in the woods? Also, I could not work out why one of the main characters managed to turn an entire town against him ... when there seemed to be no reason for this hatred. I've read several Amy Cross ghost stories before, but unfortunately it seems the ending of this one was not thought through properly.

Amy Cross is fantastic. She never fails to deliver a great read. This one is one of the best I have read! Please keep up the awesome work and I will keep reading. Someone needs to look into making some of her books into movies.

All the elements I enjoy in an absorbing ghost tale including realistic characters, chilling plot, fast-pace and plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Lacks just a bit as far as editing is concerned, but for a horror story that doesn't have to resort to excessive gore or foul language it remains a great pick and I'd say one of the best of four novels I've purchased from this author thus far. Very good book and I did enjoy!

I enjoyed the story but I am not a big fan of stories that keep jumping back and forth in time. At least this author breaks it down into chapters with headings so you are aware of the switch, but it can still be disconcerting. The editing was a little sloppy but for the most part the storyline and characters were very good

This is another awesome story by this brilliant author who I just can't get enough of. What a gift of capturing such a vivid imagination she has been blessed with! I don't know what I will do once I've read all her stories. I guess I'll have to go back and read them all again! Yes they are that good! Another story for the big screen, I must add!

I've put off writing a review of this book simply because I really don't know what to say. I read to escape into another world and this one just didn't take me there. The heroine was about the most irritating character, how do you believe everyone else to the point of having no memories of your own?

Another good Amy Cross read. I like that these books grab me right away and makes me want to read them in one sitting which I can do when going to beach for the day.

I completely enjoyed this book. A bit of a mystery and a ghost story. Lots of action. It pulled me in on the first page. If I didn't have to get up at 4am I would have read it all in a few hours. Great read.

I'm 70 yes old and have read horror since I started reading and have never read a better horror book than HAUNTED. My first Amy Cross book. I can'twait to read more of her work. HAUNTED had great horror scenes and imagery, very realistic dialog and it wasn't bogged down with extra characters and excessive back stories....love it

Lots of suspense! A true thriller! If you like a good ghost story then you will greatly enjoy this book!
