Hmmmm
An average story with some stupid errors. The main character doesn't want to leave her son in the care of her irresponsible brother, but, 2 chapters later, we are told she is an only child!!Plot spoilerAlso the son looked at the dining room table and remembered using the ouija board there. But it was the mother who used it at the table.I would like to give 5 stars for the way the story on the cancer eating away at the mum was told. I found that extremely thought provoking and very sad.Overall not a bad book if your stuck looking for something to readBookEater

Very good
Another enjoyable ghost story from this author. I do like the first-person narrative, this time from two points of view, which allows for more depth of feeling and character. There is a haunted house, a dying woman and a boy...and more. What are the secrets that lie within the ash house?I thought the 'dying' part was well done, its sadness and pain and regret and how someone could deal with it. The ghost part was clever with a great twist.Well-written and recommended.

Great story line, with that twist in tale.
Love Amy Cross, She never lets her readers down, A bit slow at beginning , but made up for at end. I think have most her books and not once have I been disappointed. Always great story. Thanks.

Great book
The book felt a bit rushed at times. The characters were developed well, but too much was squeezed in. The book needed to be developed more so you could develop a connection to the characters. Great twist though.

Great Writer
I'm a great fan of Amy, she's a brilliant writer but please forgive me this is my least favourite so far. Can't really say why it was a very sad book in many ways. I'm not sure what else to say I may of said least favourite but still good stuff.

Addictive Read
The story was easy reading yet gripping. The main character is experiencing the fear of the unknown following a terminal diagnosis.Worrying about her young son and if she will be able to still be a parent when she passes away. Will her end be a new beginning ? Fantastic Read
