Garden Groom Midi

The Garden Groom is a well-designed, well kitted device. Not sure of the colour, but that is a personal preference. I have purchased the Midi version, which seems to be a good size for the average Garden. The two capture systems work very well, although you have to be wary of the hose feed, as I found that the clippings wouldn't fully travel down into the collection hopper if you kinked the feed hose in any way.The machine works really, really well. But now to the two minor (in my opinion) snags...The first one is the weight of the device. As you start off things will be fine but, if you are using the plastic hopper you will find that the more cuttings the device collects, the heavier the thing gets. Put this with reaching over your hedge, particularly if it is large and broad like the one I have to deal with, it does put some strain on your arms. The other snag is it doesn't like long clippings. If your hedge has been cut on a regular basis and has not been allowed to grow too much, the Garden Groom has no problems. However if the hedge has been left to grow, and you have a great number of long straggly clippings the Garden Groom doesn't cope with these well - even using the instructions given in the supplied booklet .All that said these are snags, not problems. And I would recommend anything that saves me having to spend any time having to sweep up the piles of clippings usually left after cutting a hedge with a traditional hedge trimmer

One of the only type I could find for what I needed. A useful product for keeping your hedge smart and tidy. The the hedge smoother than with a cutter,great way of keeping the neighbours jealous. The only quibble is the vacuum cleaner type hose that sucks the cuttings up. It keeps twisting and getting in the way plus makes it more of a slog. You can use it without but then you have a clear up afterwards.

Easier after a few attempts, just need time to get the hang of it. Does a good job as long as the hedge is not to long.

The product arrived from France in good time, however the instructions were in French and the accompanying DVD was also in French. I had to go to the Garden Groom website and print off the instruction booklet in English. I also had to change the plug from Continental to British. I am very happy with the way the machine works and it meets my expectations.

I had one for fifteen years, and my hedge is still in good trim. When my old one stopped working last month, I simply bought another to replace it. I couldn't imagine that I would find a better hedge trimmer. Fifteen years of great satisfaction. A very good price, and an excellent company to deal with. What more could one want?

Bought to replace my first Garden Groom Midi - I bought one 10 years ago to cut my privet hedge and I finally wore it out due to over use!! Fab gadget - easy to use - cuts with great precision – only slight downside is the weight once the cuttings box is full but at least it’s helping tone my bingo wings!!! Only ever used it with the catcher box attached not the volume bag – excellent product – would definitely recommend

Like it. Collects cuttings as you go and a great finish. Drawback is emptying the collection bag and I wish I had bought the maxi otherwise would be 5 stars.

The item arrived within a few days of purchase.There were however a couple of problems. 1) the user manual was not in english,so I had to find and download one from the Internet, 2) the cord on the item was only a few inches long terminated on a 2 pin plug.(Picture seemed to show a standard cord) before use i had to purchase an extension lead and adaptor. other than these the product meets my requirements.
