First half of the review, here: the cooler itself.It gets cold! I'm assuming it's a little Peltier module. It's not very loud, either. It has three settings: off, a lower one, and a higher one. The plate it comes with has a very sleek design on it.Now onto my small gripes with the device itself. The RGB lights sort of flash randomly. Sometimes they fade nicely, sometimes they just flash madly. There's no control over them, which isn't a huge deal.The three position switch also doesn't like going from low to high. Going all the way from off to high is fine, but low to high makes it turn off and restart. It does work, though! You just have to give it a sec.The device itself has magnets in it, but I can't get it to stick to any device without the plate, even things other magnets stick to. This becomes an issue because you only get one plate. Now, I did successfully manage to remove the plate from my Steam Deck, move it to different positions, and get it to stick again. So the adhesive is very nice. Just be warned that this is meant to stay on a single device in one spot. You can remove it, it didn't damage the plate or my Steam Deck, but it's not easy to do. It would be nice if more plates could be ordered.Now, about the Steam Deck. This isn't a negative for the device, this is informational for Steam Deck users.It won't cool it. It made the case cooler, but it didn't cool the CPU or GPU a single degree. The Steam Deck's OEM case simply has no thermal connection to the internals. Cooling the case helped not at all. This is what I expected, but I really wanted to try one of these guys out for myself and see. I will be installing a case that does have a thermal connection, and I will be updating this review once I do, as stated before.Now, will it cool a tablet or a laptop on a stand? I do believe it will, provided that the case does have thermal connection to the internals. Say a Macbook or an iPad? I'm pretty sure it would work. Use your best judgement for your device on that one.-----UPDATE 7/15/24------Today I received the JSAUX thermal backplate and was able to try the device with that.Together, they get the Steam Deck around 9 to 10 degrees celsius cooler. That's between 48 and 50 degrees Fahrenheit, which is pretty impressive! The cooling device itself accounted for about 3C of that. Not the best ever, but I'll take it. If you're playing a game that's more CPU/GPU heavy than Lightyear Frontier, it could be worth it to you.(I wrote cooling case on the pictures because I was distracted by a conversation, but it's just the replacement backplate from JSAUX with the aluminum panel. It's not the fan case.)

Works great, stands up. Works best with higher wattage USB power sources, but will still operate using basic 5 watt ports.

Received item. Plugged it in and turned it on. It does not cool to the temps advertised. Attached to my tablet and found it cools to +10 at best. I have a tablet cooler from another manufacturer that cools all the way down to -2. Disappointed.
