Crazy good!
I’m new to the mechanical keyboard world so I was very overwhelmed when I started looking at all the various options and trying to figure out the terminology as well as how the different switches feel and sound. This keyboard was for my wife who types a lot and really wanted a keyboard that was going to be closer to the experience of typing on an old school typewriter with heavier tactile key presses and the clack of the keys. She also wanted a keyboard that was full sized since that is what she is already so used to. The Keychron V6 Max with Gateron Banana Switches checked all the boxes, but I was still hesitant simply because I’ve always bought the simple and cheap keyboards like Logitech’s MK series which you get a keyboard AND a mouse for $30-50. Spending $120 on just a keyboard seemed downright outrageous. That is until I had this keyboard in my hands. Not only did it check all the required boxes, but once I got my hands on the keyboard it created new checkboxes that are now requirements for any keyboard that comes after. Pros: Insane build quality Incredible sound and feel Easy to customize Excellent web-based software Great connectivity options Fantastic battery life Bright backlight with lots of RGB customizations Extremely responsive Excellent value for the money Cons: Not buying this sooner I joke, but seriously I currently have no cons, fantastic product!

Good budget keyboard for gaming and typing (banana switches)
Background: This is only my second keyboard since I started gaming. My first was a Razer Black Widow, which lasted over eight years. When it finally needed to retire, I decided to try something new. Keychron came highly recommended by my friends, and I chose the V6 Max because I’m a sucker for a numpad and extra keys—especially useful when gaming. I picked the V6 Max specifically for its full-size layout. I love having the numpad and extra keys for added functionality. The color scheme is basic but clean, giving it a nice minimalist look. I prefer using a wired connection over Bluetooth, so I haven’t tested the wireless feature yet—but I’ll update this review if I do. I went with the Banana switches, and the feel is very different from the Razer Green switches I was used to. They’re lightly tactile and produce a somewhat hollow sound when pressed. I'm not entirely used to the feel or sound yet, but that’s likely just because this is only my second mechanical keyboard. Still, the typing experience is smooth and satisfying. If you like a lighter actuation force, Banana switches are a solid choice. If you want more versatility for both typing and gaming, the Brown switches might be a better option. The keys have a nice texture—smooth but with just enough friction to prevent accidental slips. Even though I’m still adjusting to the feel, my typing remains accurate and fairly fast. I usually type at 120 WPM, and with this keyboard, I average around 105–110 WPM. As for gaming, the keyboard performs well. I’ve had no issues with responsiveness or functionality. I do prefer a more clicky switch for gaming, but that’s just a personal preference—the Banana switches still hold up well. If you like a softer, hollow-sounding switch that’s not too loud or too quiet, I’d recommend giving these a try. The RGB backlighting is fully customizable via the web or through QMK/VIA. It’s a cool aesthetic feature, though the lighting doesn’t shine through the keycaps, so it doesn’t help much with visibility in low light. There are also plenty of other customization options, including keybinding, firmware updates, key testing, snap action, key bouncing, etc. TLDR: Overall I give it a solid 5 stars as it's a good bang for your bucks. You are given a nice minimalist design with fully customizable RGB and key mapping. The Banana Switches offer a smooth tactile feeling to it with a hollow a sound, which makes it satisfying to hear, but not too loud. I have not tested out it's Bluetooth functionality because I prefer wired over it, but I will update my review if I ever use it.

Extreme key chatter/double-clicking
I highly do not recommend this product. At first, it was a great keyboard; it had a great feel, I like the option for customizability with hot-swap, and overall is a decent keyboard. However, there is a consistent issue, that you will see many others mention, with regards to key chatter, double clicking, or similar. Within the first few weeks of purchasing the keyboard, I already began to have severe issues with many keys repeating mulitple presses one after another. I contacted support, and after a bit, they graciously provided me with a new keyboard. However; this new keyboard, perhaps a month after receiving it, also began to have the exact same issues, and continues to get worse. It doesn't seem to be a case of a few faulty keyboards in the bunch; it is a consistent issue with the manufacturing of the keyboard. I have no idea how this isn't a bigger issue, and much less how it has not yet been resolved. I highly do not recommend buying this keyboard for that reason, until it is clear the problem has been solved, which at this point, I do not have the confidence in Keychron to fix this, given that the second keyboard I received, had the exact same issue as my first.

Amazing Keyboard – Bought It Twice!
The Keychron V6 Max wireless mechanical keyboard is incredible! The hot-swappable Gateron Banana switches feel smooth and responsive, and the RGB lighting looks fantastic. The full-size layout is comfortable for typing, and the 2.4 GHz Bluetooth connection is stable and works seamlessly with Mac, Windows, and Linux. I liked it so much that I ended up buying a second one! Overall, this is a high-quality, versatile keyboard that’s great for both work and gaming. I’d definitely recommend it.

Quick to break down with heavy use
The keyboard was great at first but this past month I have had several keys start to fail on me and I've had to change the key switches on a couple of keys now and sometimes the keyboard will get stuck on a character and just continue writing the key as if I had my finger still pressed down on it. I use this every day for 8 hours for work so I am a little sad it is breaking down with less than a year of use. The sound of the keyboard was fantastic as well as the features, but not great for every day heavy use. The plus side is that it is hot swappable but I liked the original switches.

I definitely like it, but love it....ehh?
I think this is a good keyboard overall and easier to move around compared to other aluminum case models. Typing feels great with both tactile and linear switches. I love the Jupiter Banana switches and they work great on this board...pure, crisp thock. The frame and internal gaskets are solid enough to provide a real stable base for keys to react to, so it's relatively free of extra noise from the board and frame (pure, crisp, independent thock). The Keychron Launcher UI is real easy to work with. It's certainly well made and high quality for this price point. It's as "full size" as it gets and feels durable enough to get beat on and used heavily for many years. Overall it would be a 4-star keyboard IMO (Their Q's are a 5). I subtracted another star because the bluetooth connection seems to have issues registering certain keystrokes on occasion, which can be real frustrating with the randomness of occurrence. As I write this review there are no issues, yet this morning n,m, k, and p keys would not register unless I pushed really hard on the key a few times. Yesterday it was the same issue with different keys. it's maybe happened 8-10 times since purchasing about a month ago and maybe 20-25 hours of use. I have a K-10 that is about 2-3 years old and never had this happen on it. The Q-Series (Q3 and Q6) have been issue-free for me as well, and get my vote as the best typing/productivity keyboards out there.

Daily Driver
Overall, this is what I want in a keyboard I use on a daily basis. I work a remote customer service job; to say I type a lot would be an understatement. So far, this keyboard has exceeded my expectations. The ease of use and responsiveness provided by the banana switches is top tier. It feels like I only have to use a medium to low amount of pressure to press the keys and the click feeling is sensational. The sound is in between thocky and clickity, if that makes sense, but more so a click noise. The feeling of typing combined with the sound scratches that itch just right. Stock keycaps are fine, they work well with the switches, wish they were side profile to show off the RGB lights a little more. RGB lights and settings are fine, nothing super crazy. Wish they had a different colorway, but now I'm just nitpicking. Regardless of the cons I listed, at this point I'm deeming this keyboard well worth the money and it will be my main moving forward. The main reason I'm not giving this a five star is due to the fact that I've only been using it for about a week and a half at the time of leaving this review, so I'm not sure of its longevity. 10/10 would recommend.

Overall, this ended up being the perfect board for me. and I don't regret buying it one bit.
This thing is my favorite part of my setup. I immediately changed out the keycaps, which was super easy to do. The added buttons above the number pad have been great for macros. It's sound is nice and thocky. Not the creamiest I've heard, but it is up there. It's perfect though with all of the extra features you get. The build is nice and quality with the right amount of weight and good feel. The web app that allows you to adjust lighting and function is super easy to use. Updating the firmware was much easier than it has been for other boards I've tried (alua especially). The multi-function has been a life saver!! No more using multiple boards between work and gaming. I just have it connected to my work dock via USB C, then wireless for my PC. (I intend to switch those when I get the chance). Overall, this ended up being the perfect board for me. and I don't regret buying it one bit.

Absolutely love it!
This is a top notch quality product. I got it with the Banana switches...and they are perfect, nice and tactile, clickity and clacky. A very nostalgic feel. I can't see how the more expensive Keychron models are any better? This thing is heavy, solid, stows 2 dongles, has a volume nob that you can press for mute. And of course all the RGB colors and patters you could want! It's even quite compact for a full 108 key model. I highly recommend. This finally upgraded my 15 year old Logitech MX5500 set, which was revolutionary during it's time and has functioned reliably still to this day, original battery in the mouse too. I have paired this V6 Max with the Keychron M6 1000 polling mouse with the metal scroll wheel. Very happy

Amazing keyboard
Best keyboard I really enjoy it
M**.
Double clicks, mis-clicks, not recommended.
Great keyboard when it works, but it has so many issues with the switches either double pressing, or not pressing at all. I whole heartedly do not recommend this keyboard due to the unreliable quality. Its only a matter of time before the PCB breaks in some capacity. Keychrons solution is a convoluted firmware update that debounces the key within a timeframe, but this definitely doesnt resolve the issue 100% of the time.

Overpriced Headache. Avoid This Keychron Keyboard at All Costs
I rarely write reviews, but this Keychron keyboard has been such a disaster that I feel obligated to warn others. For the price, you’d expect reliability and at least halfway decent customer support. Instead, I got an overpriced brick with a bad motherboard and a manufacturer that clearly doesn’t stand behind their product. Not long after buying it, the keyboard started failing due to what they admitted was a motherboard issue. Any reasonable company would replace a defective unit, especially one that’s barely been used. Instead, Keychron’s “solution” was to mail me loose parts and a set of DIY instructions so I could take the keyboard apart and rebuild it myself—on a premium product that should have just worked out of the box. This is not what I paid for. I didn’t spend good money to become an unpaid repair technician for Keychron’s quality-control problems. If the motherboard is bad, replace the keyboard. It’s that simple. Their refusal to issue a new unit tells me everything I need to know about how they value their customers once they’ve taken your money. Bottom line: stay away from this product and think twice before buying from Keychron. The hardware failed, the support was dismissive, and the “fix” was to dump the problem back on me. There are plenty of other brands out there that actually stand behind what they sell.
