Surprisingly, it does work.
This stuff worked really good on a 10 year old, fiberglass sided travel trailer. My trailer is stored outside, uncovered, so you can imagine how bad the vinyl graphics looked. I will say that this product is not a miracle that will take off your old graphics with ease, so be prepared for a good amount of work still. It did take me a bit to get a handle on proper use of the product. I ended up just wiping the Vinyl Off on with just a folded paper towel. The key is doing this job while the side you are working on is properly heated up. A nice 70f degree day with sun hit on the side you're working on worked really well. I originally tried using this product on a 60f degree day with an added heat gun but it was much more difficult. The decals would break off more frequently making it more work. My opinion of using a heat gun on a colder day would not be recommended. In addition to a warm day being key, the condition of the vinyl decal will dictate how it comes off. A decal that is cracking will come off in the chunks where the crack line is. A decal that is very thinned out from weather might have to be scraped off. Decals that are intact while still old seem to come off the best with larger chunks to full pieces 4" wide being removed. I experienced all 3 of these scenarios while removing my decals as some sides of my trailer were worse than others because of storage sun hit, the front being the worse with the very thinned out decals. Most of the decals on my TT were small pin stripes to 2" wide stripes as well as swoosh style graphics. An added benefit is you can use Vinyl Off to remove any the sticky residue that could be left behind in some areas of the decal removal process. All I did was wet a paper towel with the liquid and a relatively quick rub to remove the sticky residue.Overall I am pleased with this product but I will make this comment again, there is still a fair amount of work involved to remove old vinyl decals from a RV. I bought the gallon container and have only used about 1/4 of it at most. I would say my 26' coach (30' point to bumper) had an average amount of decals. I have seen many trailers with a lot more decals.
