A Practical Guide to Topiary Paperback – February 16, 2012

As a complete beginner, I wanted a book that showed how to shape hedges or potted plants starting with simple, easy to understand steps and moving on to more testing designs. This book is full of nice pictures with definitions of the shapes shown, but only two shapes have any instructions and they are not exactly fully explained. I returned this book and have not purchased a replacement yet.

the practical Guide to Topiary is not quite what i wanted, my need was for something very basic, its a really interesting book but only 3/4 pages of very basic stuff.

Bought this for my husband, who is a professional gardener, and he thinks it's one of the BEST books he's ever been given or bought himself. High praise indeed.

A little disappointed as I thought there would be instructionson how to achieve the shapes. But on the whole a nicelyhpresented book.

It's less of a practical guide and more of a coffee book with lots of lovely pictures. Which is not at all what I wanted.
