Large dirt drill bit.
I actually bought this thinking it would not work as advertised, but for the cost it was worth giving it a try. I was completely surprised after planning 50 small plants. It took a couple tries at first to get a hang of it but once I figured out the proper speed, I blew right through my project. I figured it saved me half the time then it would have. I love this dirt auger bit and would recommend it to those wanting to speed up the time you spend in the garden. I don't like gardening so the faster I can get in and out the happier I am.

Pleased
I used the larger one to assist in planting shrubs. Although the width is not large enough to make just a single pass down, it worked very well when making multiple paths downward to loosen the soil when putting down 3 gallon shrubs. I even used it in the same fashion to plant 5 and 7 gallon shrubs. Use a variable speed drill on the slow setting because it will definitely spin around and hurt your wrist when you hit something such as a tree root. The smaller one is not of much use to me, but it could be used by someone to plant very small bulbs.

Very good to have
These augers are well made. I plant hundreds of seedlings with them. I use the 1 inch to drill a hole then fill with water because our soil is very hard in summer. Then use the 3 in to drill in the wet sandy soil. Works great even with my cheap drill.

Works great
The auger works perfect for planting vegetables and flowers. I used in our garden and it worked perfectly. Just make sure you keep a firm grip on your drill or it may jump out of your hands.
