I bought this lead to use with a one year old Newfoundland. He currently weighs nine stone and can be boisterous. I use the lead with a Dogmatic haltie.I like the rod design handle because it prevents my fingers getting crushed when he pulls away. I have had bruised finger bones from using a normal lead.The handle nearest the collar is excellent for keeping close control over the dog and helps prevent him pulling away after other dogs. The height of the Newfoundland means this can be used without back bending.The elastic in the lead can be dangerous when used with such a big powerful dog. The first time I used it he saw a cat and because of the elastic the lead extended to let him get half way across the road before it stopped him. Luckily no cars were coming.I now use a normal lead near the road and switch to this one when it’s relatively safe as the rod handle and short control are really useful.I’ve given this four stars because of the potential danger of the elastic on a large dog, but this may not be an issue on smaller breeds. Overall quality is excellent.

I love this lead. Bought this for my strong Golden Retriever who suddenly jerks right or left when he smells food ! He's pulled me over a couple of times when he gets spooked by something. This lead has a good stretchy section which allows him to pull suddenly without it pulling on the person walking him. It also has the handy extra handle for if you need a bit more control e.g. stopping at kerbs. I wish I had had one of these a year ago before the two falls :-( The main handle is fantastic and very comfy to use. Brilliant.

Appears to be a good quality lead. Unfortunately, it was not possible to judge my height and height of neck of my dog in advance. The result was that the close control handle, my main reason for purchasing this lead, was too low and required stooping while walking if holding this handle. Would suit shorter person or taller dog! Returned for refund with no problem.

Works really good. If your dog is used to pull he is still gonna do it, it just takes less force to restrain him. Good overall, just the handle tends to rip if you use your nails just get a good grip and you're good to go.

Ordered this item to use on my Akita. Ordered and item arrived next day delivery so the process was super quick.The lead was packed well and the product is wonderful. It certainly helps control your dog easier, the anti-shock works very well. My Akita tends to pull a bit but its a far smoother walk now. The cushioned handle allows you to have greater control and a firmer grip.All round great product and will use these guys again due to their fast service with no messing around.

Excellent value for money good extension and great comfy handle grip handle for use at kerbs or heel very useful. Would buy from this company again.

My son in law who is 6’2” found he had to stoop slightly to use the lower handle other than that he was very impressed.
