Excellent ski lock, takes a bit of getting used to.
I bought this lock to secure my 184cm Volkl Mantra 2020 model skis when I’m skiing on my own and need to leave them unattended. I wasn’t sure they would work as they are 98mm wide and that’s the max recommended for the lock. However, they are perfect. Need to engage one side of the lock then the other, but that’s not a problem. If I could suggest one thing to buyers, take some time in the comfort of your own home to get used to how the lock works rather than trying to use it for the first time on the slopes. It wasn’t immediately clear how this all works from the instructions or online resources but with a little thought and practice it’s brilliant and quick to use. Light and small enough to carry in my jacket pocket it was always readily to hand. Even in the hotel shared ski and boot room I was able to secure skis, poles and boots using this (YMMV, depending on the layout of the rack). I wasn’t 100% sure when I bought this lock as there are much cheaper cable locks out there, including the one I used to use but have misplaced. However, I can highly recommend this as a step up. Let’s face it, the lock isn’t going to withstand a concerted effort from someone with tools who REALLY wants your skis. However, to avoid accidental taking it’s ideal. Also, making your skis just a little harder to pinch will usually be enough to make sure the thieves move on and leave them alone.

Solid and easy to use
This device gives you a peace of mind while having a break in between runs. Easy to use and locks not just skis but poles too. I couldn’t find anything better than this to prevent my expensive gear from getting snatched.

Sort of does the job.
This lock does the job but it is very awkward to use.Takes about ten minutes to secure poles and skis properly.Expect to have to try multiple times before secure.I use it because my skis and poles are very expensive so in that respect this lock is worth the effort.

Utter disappointment, did I receive a faulty product?
I had really high hopes for this product. I received it and upon opening immediately thought the design is good and that it looked like it would fulfil it’s intended purpose. That was until I used it in the field. Having just returned from a weeks skiing in New Hampshire I have to express my utter disappointment. The ski lock does notlive up to its promise and I can only assume I received a faulty model. Twice it fell apart quite disastrously and I had to put it back together and on numerous occasions I had to reattach the rubber lock cover. It is not what I expected ans I am hoping the manufacturer has the credibility to offer me either a full refund or a replacement but I will wait and see how they respond to this review.

Ideal ski security
Works well as a security aid when leaving skis unattended. Relatively easy to install, and obviously there does have the have something to secure them to, but once in place it is a good deterrent to opportunistic theft. Straightforward to install and lock, but as other reviewers have said, it can be a bit fiddly to do though in fairness, that’s not a fault of the Ski Lock, just a fact that when dealing with skis and poles they can be unmanageable in many situations! To sum up, this is a well thought out but simple solution to the frequent worry felt about leaving skis in unattended ‘boot rooms’ or in racks outside busy mountain cafes.

Simple to use, allows skis and poles to be locked, preventing anyone accidentally picking up the wrong equipment.
Easier than a combination lock, simple to use, locks with the press of a button, unlocks with a key. Holds either carbon or aluminium poles as well as one pair of alpine skis.Pros: Easy to use, feels secure and key is quicker to use than a combination lock, decent length of cable.Cons: A little bulky to put in a pocket, fine in a back pack, and anyway I wouldn't want to fall on it! The red rubber cover for the lock kept coming off, and was a little fiddly to reattach in the cold.
