This has been pretty good for my mom's recovery. She has been exercising more per her physical therapy and this device has really helped with alleviating pain from her legs. I would still recommend speaking to your physician first before using this if you are planning to use this post surgery. The actual leg wraps were actually not too heavy surprisingly. It also was not extremely thick material. All the pieces fit comfortably into the carrying bag provided. Speaking of the carrying bag, it is pretty well made. It is durable and the handles are decent. Because the device is not extremely heavy, I do not really see the need for any padding on the handles. The actual leg wraps are adjustable to give you a good fitting. Do not overly tighten this as you do not want to cut off the circulation. This device is also NOT battery powered. It must be plugged into the wall in order to work. Putting these on is not too difficult. It definitely not something you can walk around in. The wires running from the leg wraps are very thick and durable so you do not have to worry about them fraying or breaking. It gives you enough space between your joints to allow you to bend. The controls are pretty simple and easy to learn. There are different settings to allow you the best comfort and massage. It does not get overly hot or anything during the massage. My mom was able to use this for 30 minutes without any worry. It definitely helped her legs with pain relief. The massage is directed towards most of your muscle points to allow for better relief and blood flow. I am not sure if this is machine washable. I would not really recommend putting this in any water or washer as the electronics may get damaged. The controls also need to be plugged into the wire in order to work. The instructions are pretty straight forward. Overall the device works pretty well so far. It has helped with blood flow and muscle pains. Again I would say this works great for recovery but talk to the physician first just to make sure this is the right device. It does not hurt to use and does not get overly warm. It is easy to learn and wear the device. You are able to adjust the wrap to make it more comfortable as needed.
