OtterBox iPhone 6 ONLY Case - Defender Series, Retail Packaging - Electric Indigo (Citron / Deep Water) (4.7 inch) (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

Purchased directly from Amazon on 12.31.14. Was apprehensive about purchasing this case due issues noted in other reviews. Had LifeProof Fre case prior - waterproof, but 100% encasement reduced camera and audio quality.Pros:1. Feels sturdier / more bend-resistant than LifeProof case. This is likely due to hard shell and slip cover combination. Will provide plenty of protection - especially since we have young kids at home.2. Great fit/finish and material quality. Material feels good to touch. No jagged edges. Fine port alignment except for the headphone/microphone (may be by design though).3. Screen protector doesn't feel flimsy/thin as noted in other reviews. No screen distortion (unlike LifeProof Fre). Touch operation is fine. No visibly discernible gap between protector and screen.4. TouchID is 100% reliable assuming finger is placed consistently.5. Case doesn't feel overly bulky - given high level of protection.Cons:1. Buttons work but need to be "pressed" (volume buttons tougher than than lock screen button).2. Port covers may place minor strain on head phone and lightning cables (elastic port cover material wants to close, pushing downward on cables).3. Can hear taps on screen protector (likely due to it not been adhered on to glass).Takeaway - great high quality case if you need extra protection (I do!). Many pros, and cons are not showstoppers.

Well, this being my fourth otterbox defender case, I am actually quite disappointed. I decided to wait a few months before writing my review that way I could have a solid and honest opinion, now, I'll tell you why. For starters, the fitment of the case is so awful that I can see where my phone never sits center or flush in the device. If I shake the phone, I can feel it sliding in the case. The headphone port has a groove to fit larger headphone jacks but it doesn't even come close to lining up with the headphone jack on the phone. I actually laugh when I go to use haedphones and have to look at such poor craftsmanship. Secondly, I have dropped the device but two time in the past two months and there is already great amount of wear and tear on the silicone outer case. It is peeling and losing its quality. Another big one, dust protection. This case is all but dust proof or even dust resistant. There is always dust getting caked under the screen protector and it is quite annoying. As far as the touch id working with the case, it gave me a lot of trouble at first but once it got "broke in" it started to work 75% of the time. So, I'm still giving this case 3 stars. The case is still very protective and functional (for the most part). It has a great look and style that everyone knows as otterbox. But, overall, I would just say I am disappointed and would like otterbox to send me a better fitting case when they decide to get their act together.

This was my first Otterbox purchase (I should have gotten one of these a LONG time ago)! This case is honestly amazing and I can't believe I waited so long to get one! I always worried these cases are too bulky - but the protection is absolutely worth it!! Your phone is REALLY protected!Pros:-built in screen protectors (which i was not aware of but LOVE!!)-covers for charger and headphones ports-unlike what other reviewers experienced, my phone reads my fingerprint easily (maybe the case has been improved since those reviews?)-also unlike what other reviewers experienced, I am able to press the volume and on/off button with very little effort-super easy to install-great case colorCons:-I cannot for the life of me access my control center without swiping my screen up like a mad woman 10+ times :( even that usually doesn't work-Typing is nearly impossible for about the first week - it gets better though. I started relying on voice texting for the first several days because I couldn't take the excessive amounts of typos due to the thick screen protectors, but now that I have had the case for exactly a month, I am able to type like a regular person :)Overall, I definitely recommend this case!!!

I have had my otterbox case for a few days now (for my iPhone 6). Since the reviews were so bad, I was going to try to hold out for the life proof but I couldn't wait any longer and risk breaking my phone. I don't think it's as bad as some the reviews out there. It's big, but not any thicker than my iPhone 5 case. The rubber is a different material but not in a bad way, just a firmer rubber. My Touch ID works with the case- I reset my finger print after I had the case on it and that helped it. Even without the case I've found its not 100%. The only thing I don't like so far is that the port tabs open up instead of back. So it's kind of difficult to plug things in and get at the silence tab. But not bad enough that I can't live with it. Overall I'm happy with it. Selection at the stores is terrible still so I had to order online.

UPDATED JAN 9:Unfortunately, I have to issue a return for the case. The screen pillowing has seemed to of gotten worse, and the screen is starting to get more unusable where I have to literally tap the screen to get it to work. I thought about popping the screen protector out but I shouldn't have to tamper with the case to get it to work to my favour, and I'm worried about damaging the case in the process. Buttons also started to get more difficult to press, where a lot of force was required to make the buttons usable. Don't know if it's because my phone is shifting in the case or if the buttons on the rubber were not designed properly. Reduced rating to 3 stars. May give the case a try again in a few months, hopefully by then the problems will iron themselves out. Maybe I got a defective case, who knows.JAN 8/2015 Update:I decided to purchase the same case directly through Amazon instead of through the third party again. It came relatively quick within one day from BC to ON. Very impressed with that.Took it out of the shipping parcel and I can already tell the difference. This new case is definitely an authentic Otterbox. Took it out of the packaging and it is a different shade of blue from the one I received and the case felt a lot better in the hand. The holster is a lot sturdier as well.I put my phone in the case and it was tight fitting. The buttons are quite a bit stiffer than the fake case I received initially, but I prefer that. The screen protector is a lot better fitting than the last one, and there is much less of a gap (however, there is still a tiny bit of one, but it is much more tolerable). Touch ID works flawlessly in this case as well, unlike the other one. Bumped the rating from 2 to 4 stars. Still not entirely perfect, but still a lot better than the fake one I received and at least this one comes with warranty. A great case this time around. Worth the extra few bucks to have a peace of mind.ORIGINAL REVIEW JAN 7/2015 (third party case):The case seems to fit fine, but I'm beginning to question the authenticity of the case. Note that this was purchased through a third party on Amazon and not through amazon themselves.First, the packaging looks way off from a regular otterbox packaging. The writing on this packaging where it says "iPhone 6" is way too zoomed in compared to other packaging for otterboxes I've had. I've even checked in store and the packaging is quite different.Getting to the case itself, it fits okay, no loose movement, and feels well protected (my phone that is). Buttons have good feedback. Some things noticed that bug me though:1) The Touch ID worked flawlessly the first time I put on the case. 5 minutes after putting it into my pocket, I literally cannot get it to work for the life of me. Nothing changed, so I fail to understand what's going on. Tried putting case back on, and still the same issue.2) The screen protector sits above from the screen (leaving a noticeable gap), making it next to impossible to use unless you press down on it with abnormal pressure. Compared to past otterbox defender cases for the smaller and older iPhones, this is not even close to acceptable, since I`ve never had this screen gap issue before.3) The case itself seems to have quality issues. The apple logo for my case is not even lined up in the small circle in the back. The port covers don't even line up with the plastic shell of the case either, making it more difficult to pull them out.To be honest, I wrote this case off once I seen the packaging. Why? Because the packaging looks like it came from a cheap China knockoff Factory. I gave it the benefit of the doubt to see how the case is itself. Obviously there's too many issues with it to keep, but I'll say this. If you get a good quality non-defective case, it's not that bulky of an otterbox and very easy to handle. Love it for that reason. That's why there's 2 stars.Just make sure to buy directly from amazon or a retail store, and not a third party seller affiliated with amazon. Lesson learned!

Best case money can buy. You can get drunk and toss your phone across rooms and off balconies and never have any issues. I cut off all of the protector tabs that make it an extra step to plug anything in and also you can pop out the screen protector as it just gets dirty and your screen doesn't really scratch up with this case anyways. Only issue is that plugging in audio cables or after market charge cords can cause problems with fit but this happens with every case that provides significant protection.

This is the best phone case. Two phones and still ticking. I am an artisan and have dropped my phone on the shop floor many times and shows no damage to case or phone.The plastic screen isnt the clearest but is bearable. I have since put the case on a new iphone 8/ I tore out the plastic and replaced it with a glass screen. Works like a charm.

I have not used this yet, but bought another one identical to it in a different color for my phone from the same seller. I have always used otterbox cases on all mine and my family's iPhones as I feel that with such an expensive device, a good case is a necessity. I bought this one for my teenage son and will take it to the store today and have it put directly on his new phone. This was a great price for an item that was exactly as described. I would recommend this for anyone who is less than careful with their phone.
