I have a LG V30. It's about 2 years old and for some reason when I plug any USB 3.1 hard drive directly into the USB-C port it won't show up as Storage. I have an Amazon Basics USB-A to USB-C adapter for plugging thumb drives in to the phone. Sometimes to transfer files and sometimes to expand storage of the phone. After some troubleshooting, I figured that any USB 3 adapter wouldn't allow the drives to show as storage. So the search for a USB 2.0 adapter with USB-C male plug started. Found some super cheap ones that had terrible reviews; avoided them. On one of the last items there was a "Related" link to these adapters. Good reviews and great price made me immediately click Buy Now. Got them a few days later and began plugging my thumb drives into them and connecting them to my phone. BOOM! Every adapter worked with all of my thumb drives. Immediately showed as storage on the phone. The only worry I had is that transfers would be slow but the speed does not feel slower than when the 3.1 adapters used to work. So great buy to solve my problem.

I purchased these to use with my Galaxie S7 phone. Everything said the USB-C was the correct plug. What I did not know, and soon learned was that not all Galaxie S7's use the type C plug. Some use the micro-USB plugs. Such as mine. This was done when the S7's were being bundled with the VR goggles. Oh lucky me. It was my error in not researching the order enough before hand, so it is not any fult of Amazon. They look pretty durable. Maybe in the future I'll find a use for them.

These cables do charge and sync, but only at USB 2.0 speeds. The extra pins in the type a connector aren't connected to anything, so the best speed these will transfer data is 38 MB/s. This is a far cry from the 130 MB/s my flash drive supports. I'm connecting this to a computer USB 3.1 Gen 1 port, so there's no argument whether my phone supports USB 3.0, which it does.

Have complete connection failure within 120 days of use. And down to 2 of the 5 purchase that still work and of those that still work am having connectivity issues befog they completely stop working. I would not recommend purchasing.

I got these for my MacBook to convert USB-C to regular USB ports, and they did just that. Nothing special, just a bunch, and they were cheap.

Works perfect! Used this to change a midi plugs to usb cord to work with my phone (usb c)...Very happy!

Work fine to link Android phone to USB devices.
