Shelly BLU H&T Black - Bluetooth Temperature and Humidity Sensor, Smart Thermometer and Hygrometer for Indoor/Outdoor, IP54 Certified, Data Storage, Beacon Mode, Gateway Required

Working great for 6 months now monitoring the temperature and humidity of my loft that turns on and off a Shelly smart socket with an extractor fan. Condensation in the loft solved👍🏻 Note: you will need the Shelly Bluetooth usb dongle to connect it to your WiFi network for off site access.

Excellent sensors. Very long battery life using BLE technology. Fairly accurate for a sensor at this price point. Usual high Shelly quality. Operates well in challenging situations such as inside a fridge. Works with the Shelly app or with Home Assistant using a Bluetooth proxy such as the one built in to many Shelly devices. Battery life is so long on these sensors that the manufacturer ships them from the factory with the battery already installed and the sensor active. I use Home Assistant and the sensor was automatically detected while still in the unopened package just after the postman pushed the package through the letterbox. Can’t ask for much more than that!

So far so good, works well, if you need this to work with Home Assistant you will also need an ESP32 board for Bluetooth if you don't already have one.

In terms of it's build, the Shelly Blu H&T is well made and inconspicuous. Of all the H&T sensors they make, this is the best as it sends out a reading every 11 seconds and can last ages on a 2032 battery. For those who understand the difference, it's measurements are very reliable but not accurate - meaning, for example, when it says 20.8°c, it's actually 19.7°c, but as long as you implement this calibration into your thermostat settings, you will get the temperature spot on. For anyone wanting to use this as a thermostat at home - make sure to set it up as a "scene" rather than the thermostat as the thermostat is extremely limiting in what you can do.

I bought this for a shop heat control. I'm not sure why this has been such an ordeal to solve, but seems like everything I try has a problem. Wifi thermometer and smart plug using smart life - the trigger fails. Every time. Zigbee failed as it's too far from my hub. All the z-wave stuff I could find was $50+. Then I ran across this. Note: this is a bluetooth device, so it has to be paired with something. It will pair to a phone, but my phone is not close enough to it most of the time. Since I needed to control a plug in device, I bought a Shelly smart plug as well, and afterward discovered that the plug can be the BLUETOOTH receiver!!! So slick! So instead of having to do some sort of Alexa or Smart Life or IFTTT integration, Shelly handles it all! Plug has a bluetooth hub (sadly it only will pair to Shelly devices), so it's the "base station" for the thermometer. Once you've paired this up, create a Scene or two with temperature as the trigger and the on/off of the smart plug. And it's not limited to that. If I want a second heater, I can add a second plug and control that. I can also trigger a notification, or any other action that is supported by my Shelly devices. No cloud, no Smart Life failure, just works! I haven't tried this yet, but these devices even support scripting. I want to see if I can somehow use the lights as a trigger, and if no lights are triggered for, say 48 hours, it shuts down the heater. (I think I can, but haven't tried yet.) Plus it will integrate with Alexa or Hubitat, but more importantly, it has 3rd party control options so it'll integrate with pretty much anything. I'll be adding it to my Crestron system...

ne ho presi tre, passiamo subito alle note dolenti, messi vicini rilevano una umidità sostanzialmente corretta, ma la temperatura no, si arriva a due gradi di differenza. Non so, o non ho trovato, se sia possibile regolarli. Diciamo che per il mio utilizzo è una mancanza relativa. Il campionamento è buono, pensavo decisamente peggio, ed invece è parecchio verboso a distribuzione dati. Chiaramente è necessario un dispositivo Shelly Plus come il plug che fornisce il servizio di gateway verso il bluetooth low energy. Ma questo è scritto anche nella descrizione. Con Home Assistant riconosciuti all'istante. Cosa che non utilizzzo, il pulsante a cui è possibile associare azioni o automatismi. C'è e può fare comodo in condizioni future. Durata della batteria non mi esprimo perché troppo presto, sono arrivati tutti con la batteria carica al 100% e dopo qualche mese dal primo è ancora tale. Nota sul "foro" che si vede nelle foto, non è passante e non si può usarlo per appenderlo, per quello è presente l'adesivo 3M Aggiornamento dopo 2 anni Non ho ancora cambiato una batteria, attualmente stanno tra il 44 e il 57% a seconda della distanza tra il sensore e il suo gateway, quindi ipoteticamente dovrebbero avere una durata intorno ai 4 anni. Considerando che la verbosità del dato è densa, ovvero nei grafi non vedo i classici "scalini" dovuti a valori troppo dilatati, sono più che soddisfatto.

Ich nutze mehrere Shelly Blu H&T Sensoren zur Überwachung von Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit und bin insgesamt zufrieden. Die Einrichtung über die Shelly-App ist unkompliziert, wobei ich die App nur für die initiale Einrichtung verwende. Anschließend integriere ich die Sensoren in Home Assistant, was ebenfalls einfach funktioniert. Die Messwerte scheinen grob korrekt zu sein. Mehrere Geräte nebeneinander zeigen identische Werte, die mit anderen Messgeräten vergleichbar sind. Zur absoluten Genauigkeit kann ich jedoch keine abschließende Aussage treffen. Eine wichtige Voraussetzung für die Nutzung der Shelly Blu H&T ist ein Shelly Plus Gerät als Gateway, wie zum Beispiel Shelly Plus S oder Shelly Plus 1PM. Hier gibt es einen Unterschied zur WLAN-Variante der Shelly H&T Geräte: Während die Blu H&T eine deutlich bessere Batterielaufzeit haben, benötigen sie eben diese Gateways. Die Batterielaufzeit ist beeindruckend, obwohl die Batterien kleiner sind. Allerdings hängt die Laufzeit stark von den Umgebungstemperaturen ab. Bei Außensensoren ist die Batterielaufzeit kürzer, und im Gefrierschrank, wo ich ebenfalls einen Sensor zur Temperaturüberwachung nutze, hält die Batterie erwartungsgemäß nicht sehr lange. Im Vergleich zu den WLAN-Varianten mit Display haben die Shelly Blu H&T keine Anzeige, was in manchen Räumen ein Nachteil sein kann. Dafür punkten sie jedoch mit ihrer langen Batterielaufzeit und der Zuverlässigkeit. Fazit: Die Shelly Blu H&T sind eine gute Wahl für die Überwachung von Temperatur und Luftfeuchtigkeit, vor allem, wenn eine lange Batterielaufzeit gefragt ist. Sie sind einfach einzurichten und zeigen stabile Messwerte. Wer jedoch auf ein Display oder eine WLAN-Anbindung ohne Gateway angewiesen ist, sollte die WLAN-Variante in Betracht ziehen.
