The sleeping pad isn't too thin, but cushiony enough for me to sleep well. It self inflates once you open up the valves, but to really make it hardened, all it takes is about 4-5 breaths to maximum. Deflating is also easy, just gotta fold it in half the long way and start rolling it up. The valve does a great job at letting air out without taking too long time to deflate.My only issue with this is it's not wide enough for me. but if you're sleeping in a sleeping bag with your arms tucked to the sides, it should be fine.

Just received today. It does not self inflate very well on first unpackaging. We had to roll and unroll in different directions to open all the air pathways. If you let it self inflate it will not be 1.5 inches. I am 5'7" and the length is perfect. My husband us 5'11" and he will either need to have his head in feet off the pad.Overall it is comfortable and we are happy with it and will use it. I would recommend inflating and getting any air pathways open and working before taking it camping. Feels durable and arrived in it's bag with a patch attached to the bad and a pair of earplugs inside.

Foam debonded from outside cover on first night of real use. Luckily it was a short trip because the rest of the trip was on the ground. Bummer.
