Pontiac GTO Automatic Shifter Knob Bezel and Button

Just replaced this piece in my 2005 GTO and took a good while to get it to work. Initial install was pretty straight forward but once I installed the button it snapped in and stuck, wouldn’t budge. After pulling it all apart I found that when the button was pushed all the way down it would just bind and the spring pressure wouldn’t push it back up even with ample grease applied. After about 30 minutes of sanding and filing any surface where the plastic potentially touched it would finally work smoothly. I was however impressed that the plastic held up to some pretty sketchy maneuvering trying to pry the top button out when it was stuck. All in all it did the trick but wasn’t plug and play.
