Grimaud Origin

Beautifully produced, high quality, nouveau tarot deck from Grimaud, as might be expected from them. This is a playing deck not divinatory. Also called French tarot or Bourgeois tarot. The face cards have lovely illustrations, double-headed. Although larger than a normal playing card deck, we use these for gin rummy and other games (sans the trump cards but we keep both the cavalier & valet in the deck cos we like the pictures). The 21 trumps are reversible (although not symmetrical) with original urban/rural/domestic illustrations from the 19th century. I bought a set from Amazon which had damaged outer packaging, so remarkably good value (just over £5). The cards themselves were perfect and undamaged. Very pleased to add these to my card collection.

Excellent. Nice cards. I found them easy to play with. Easy to distribute. Easy to shuffle. Easy to hold. And tjhe design does not look cheap nor flimsy.
