UK three CD set. Following the demise of The Sex Pistols, Malcolm McLaren formed Bow Wow Wow in 1980 from former members of Adam And The Ants and a 14-year-old Myint Myint Aye (Burmese for "High High Cool"), who was spotted singing while working a Saturday job at her local dry cleaners, and soon renamed Annabella Lwin. Bow Wow Wow found early success with their Burundi-style drumming, pop melodies, surf instrumentals and Annabella Lwin's screams, chants and girlish squeals. But their notoriety soared due to the controversy surrounding Lwin's age, and the fact that she was featured naked on the band's first LP in 1981. Soon to be touring the States and opening for bands of the likes of the Pretenders and the Police, Bow Wow Wow soon released a plethora of singles, many of which came in numerous formats including cassettes, 7 inches, 12 inches and flexi-discs, with many containing alternative versions, b-sides, and remixes - all of which are included here on Your Box Set Pet: The Complete Recordings 1981-1984. Contains the albums See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah, City All Over! Go Ape Crazy! (1981), When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going (1983), the EP Your Cassette Pet (1980), plus all of the band's singles, b-sides, remixes and rarities. All material has been fully remastered especially for this release. Comes in a special clam shell style box set containing CD wallet replicas of the band's albums, faithfully reproducing their original artwork.

Sounds great to me ~
I'm no sound expert - but sounds better, more clear for sure - I've been waiting to read reviews on what others think. I just received mine.Haven't listened with headphones/amp yet. Package is nice, clean - nothing fancy. No detail about remastering process - not sure if that's something usually included with remastered releases - but they do mention 2 tracks that didn't have good original source material, so they used best material possible (Elimination Dancing, King Kong). I can for sure now hear how "muddy" the other releases are compared to this.

Most underrated band of the 80s
One of the most underrated 80s bands. I've always been a fan of Bow Wow and the Burundi beat that they used just like Adam and the Ants. This is a great collection with the remastering done very well. One question ,but not a complaint, is where is the track Cast Iron Arm? Can't call it a complete collection if you don't have that one

GREAT music! Still doesn't feel like the definitive collection though.
This pulls together the official recordings that were officially released when the band was together in the 80's. Missing are the four tracks from their unreleased 1980 Peel Sessions, as well as demos such as Cast Iron Arm, Theme A, Bow Wow Wow, Biological Phenomena, Cash / Money In the Bank, etc. Some of these are available on the "Girl Bites Dog" CD, which I highly recommend.Mastering is dynamic and not brick-walled. It doesn't feel like anything was done to ease the fact that the vocals were too high in the mix on "Your Cassette Pet", which still sounds a bit anemic (as did the original cassette anyway). I still have to crank it loud to feel the kick and bass, and then the vocals jab me in the ear a bit much...Packaging and the booklet are nice. Nothing extravagant, but it doesn't feel like a budget release either.Oops: When the narrative in the booklet mentions how the guys came over from Adam & the Ants, there was an accompanying photo of the Ants... but it was from 1977, when Mark Ryan was the guitarist and Andy Warren was bassist! At least Dave was in the photo...

Great Collection
Almost the complete recordings (minus a few songs). Each disc is in a replica sleeve of an album. The box is not the standard CD size for some reason. It is square shaped, taller and narrower than a CD.

Annabelle Lwin
Love this band. The 12" versions are so worth this box set. Wanted Annabelle Lwin's solo album and tracks included but that's another time.

'cause truth loves to go naked.....
This is a great collection....the compilers have done their homework on this one...well done cherry red!You get the RCAalbums in their entirety....fabulous stuff from the wowsers...what a fantastic bunch of musicians they were....Maffew, Leigh and Dave Barb...very under rated players in my book. Also the emi compilation (sort of) The Original Recordings...but this is mixed up on the last disc with some amazing versions and remixes.Even has the brilliant Baby Oh No 12" mix....and doesn't forget the Wheres My Snake track from Scandalous (terrible film I recall..but worth sitting through to see the band on stage.)Takes you in a musical journey from the blatant tribal and McLaren driven early stuff like c30 c60....to the amazing spaghetti western jazzy funk of Prince of Darkness....on to the more poppy second album....do you wanna hold me and the like.Love Love Love this.......I'm playing my Leroy Gorman Wal AIR BASS to this...through my air Trace Elliot Bass rig of course!Added some pictures for nostalgia sake.....be warned...Home Taping is Killing Music......
