Very capable
You won't be disappointed with this laptop. Top framerate.Temperature wise it's very good. And it's actually quiet compared to alot of laptops out there. It has a side usb slot. Then another usb slot. A hdmi slot and a USB type c slot so you can even charge your phone.Great laptop. 32gb RAM is overkill for games. But man it feels so smooth.

An excellent gaming laptop for the price of £999.99, with a BIG BUT
The spec of this laptop, despite the age, is very good. The price reflects the time this laptop has been on sale, but the 12th gen i7 and excellent Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070ti are easily capable of running all the most modern games. You might like to down down some quality settings if you're playing at the native resolution of 2560x1440.Once all the bloatware and all Windows and app updates are applied, this is a very snappy laptop. The trackpad is large and feels responsive, and the keyboard is a generous size. You sacrifice a number pad, which is a little strange for the size of the laptop, but the backlit keys (4-zone) make it easy to use in all conditions. There is a big but with the laptop, however. I'm not sure why, but the warranty is showing as having been activated in January 2023. It has therefore expired as of March 2024 (2 months before I bought it). This rings alarm bells for me. Everything looks new and unopened, but this would indicate the laptop has previously been used. I'm not prepared to have any laptop costing this amount without any warranty, let alone a 1-year only warranty. So it is being returned

Good value
I needed a big screen laptop with graphics horsepower and this seemed like a good price for a very good spec.Normally the first thing I do with a laptop is install Linux because most of the time, unless you need a Windows-only app, it's a safer and more flexible OS by a long way. And it's free. However, having bought the Omen and done a lot of googling I realised that it was too new to be properly supported by Linux so I shrugged and opted to continue with Windows 11.I've been using Windows for years now and the first job is always to tell it not to share my data with Microsoft. The second is to remove or disable the crud that always comes with it. Having done all that and installed my favourite apps this laptop is near faultless. I use GIMP with very large graphics files and the Omen has no problem at all with them. The keyboard is good (not great) for typing. The screen is superb; glowing colours that make my previous Dell laptop look muddy.A word of caution; after a day of use, the laptop began to freeze every few hours (I have been using it most days for several hours at a time). No response from keyboard, black screen. I left it for 2 minutes or so and it recovered with no issue. This kept on happening. Googling the problem gave only vague hints, probably because this is a new machine. In the end I removed most of the HP apps as I really don't need them. I also disabled all of the 'go to sleep' options in the power settings. Problem solved! This gets 5 stars because despite the hiccups it really is an excellent machine that does exactly what I wanted.BTW I bought a spare charger off Amazon - just a few quid and it means I don't have to carry it around with me.

Raw drive issues within 36 hours of use.
Initially really liked this product. Found the webcam procided a super clear image. The included headphones were comfy and had good sound quality on both the microphone and headset.Opening a few games from steam was quick and easy with clear gameplay.Issue was I started to get frozen screens. And then the black screen of death. Repeatedly.I only downloaded reputable programs such as Microsoft, steam, and Google Chrome in that time so likely caused by a problem with the device itself.More telling was that when I tried to ask amazon to provide me with a replacement they refused and said it wasn't an available option. I could only apply for a refund. There were still machines available to buy so that makes me think the build quality issue may be a known issue with this machine, especially with the very nice headphones that are thrown in.It's a shame as I really liked the machine until it very quickly died on me!It was quiet when gaming. The fans seemed to work well as the machine didn't overheat. Shame. I really would have liked to have tried a replacement model in case I was just unlucky with the build quality!

Super quiet, and up for the challenge
I had an Aero OLED Gigabyte that was 5 years old and gave up the ghost so I had to get a replacement. My old Aero was super noisy and overheated when playing online games. This beast is super quiet and handles online games with ease, it does not get hot and so far have no issues at all. Love it, would highly recommend. I play PALIA online so I don't know what its like for other games, but it plays PALIA with ease, really happy with my purchase, will hopefully last me a good few years and I don't miss the OLED !
