DM Starter Set 183 Miniatures

An amazing set of solid cardboard miniatures. The variety here is astounding, and you get enough of each monster to fit most encounters. The artwork is all great, they snap into the bases easily, and you get enough bases to account for all your needs. Great value for the price and they have replaced plastic miniatures for most of my games.

These are fantastic. I've got more than 100 minis for less than 50 bucks and I can store them all super super easily. The size is perfect for playing with other 3d minis and terrain; and artwork is phenomenal. Because they're flat, I like to use simple colored paperclips for status effect tracking; and you can also use paperclips to clip to minis together for carrying / grappling / anything else you might want to happen. The packs will often give you two of the same mini but with the artwork mirrored; and while that is technically a different mini, it's very hard to distinguish in a fight if your player is attacking the left or right facing purple wizard. I recommend either painting a few of the stands with plastic paint, or maybe getting some additional colored stands. That makes it super easy to tell your two almost identical spear goblins apart. I think the only thing I have approaching negative feedback is there aren't enough gnomes / halflings / other small folks in these packs. I have a gnome in every game I DM; and there's just one small human child I can use. I like that mini; but it would be nice to mix it up. Especially when there are also NPC gnomes or halflings to represent. That being said I still can not recommend these enough. I'm going to be keeping my eye on them to snap up the new packs as they put them out!

I've recently had the pleasure of adding this set of cardboard pop-out minis to my DMing arsenal, and I am blown away by their quality and charm. The immediate standout is the detailed artwork that graces each figure. The vivid colors and intricate designs are unique and really fun. Also, despite being lightweight, these pop-out figures are sturdy and well-crafted, able to withstand the intensity of many epic gaming nights. The bases blend in well, but aren’t too small and they really grab each mini we’ll so that you don’t slide out too easily. Scaling is also spot on with these cardboard pop-outs. They slide right into any game scenario on standard mats and stand up on their own really well. The collection offers an admirable variety of figures, providing more than enough options for small adventures or one-offs. Shipping was swift, with the mini-figs arriving in perfect condition, thanks to the careful packaging. These cardboard pop-out mini-figs are an absolute delight for any current or aspiring DM. They offer a fresh and imaginative way to bring the game to life, and I cannot recommend them enough. I can’t wait to see what other sets Wanderer’s Emporium releases.

totally, awesome! better in person for sure. much easier to take these with me as i travel than a case of 3d minis. very happy with my purchase. image quality is great, product quality overall is great. i will def buy more minis from this brand

This is a great set for any dnd DM. It has given me many options for battles. The appearance of the minis is detailed and with the base the pieces stay upright. My only con is that on the box it shows a chest and I thought that was included for storage but its sold separately. Otherwise I had no issues.

Just received these today and they look phenomenal. We went through all of them and are looking forward to using them in game. They're thick, high quality board with awesome colorful artwork and we loved the fact that they have fronts and backs for each creature and object. The plastic stands have a nice and tight grip on the base so they won't slip off during play. Definitely worth the price and we're looking forward to getting the new sets they have out.

Excellent product. I use these in place of miniatures for solo games like The Fantasy Trip, Four Against Darkness and games from Dark City Games. The appearance of these standees are excellent quality. Many classes and races, beasts and monsters to choose from and several poses as well. Also has a reverse side. They also have sizes from small (sprites) to large (trolls) Very easy to assemble using the included stands. The box is a flat pack so you will have to disassemble each one and either reinsert into its sheet or keep them loose in the flat pack otherwise, keep them assembled in your own storage solution.

UPDATE: So happy to see that the company offers more. Bought two more kits. really like these. UPDATE: Used these in two battlemap situations - they deliver. ORIGINAL: There is only one set so far. I would really, really like to see more from this company. The idea of buying a set of decent set of stand up figures that are G/PG w/ some easily recognizable monsters at this price point is outstanding. Pro's 1) Cost vs. pawn / character / item. Huge - several characters / monsters. Vivid colors. 2) recognizable - you can see who on the board is what. PC, monsters, and the few accessories. 3) I like that the women are covered up well enough - I'd rate the one PG, the rest are G. There are two PG guys. 4) the plastic bases are excellent. 5) Front and back. Well done. Con's (sort of, you get exactly what they show you). 1) For me, I'd like a little different layout. Exchange a barrel for a treasure chest (get 2, not 1). Exchange the two winged snakes for two orcs (between the goblin / ogre size). 2) I'd like the wizards to be more than all purple. Future expansion set ideas for the creator: Focus on a second Level 1-4 kit - check out the WOTC L1-3 type stuff. Like we need two skeletons, a few ocrs, two wolves, that kind of thing. Create more classes in different color schemes. Like a Ranger type character in green w/ a bow, a green wizard, a yellow / orange sorcerer, that sort of thing. Also - we do need a few fighter types in chain mail, plate is super expensive in the game. Then focus on a L 4-7 kit. Would love to see what you can come up with! In this one, would need to include a greed, red, blue dragon (my guess...)

Great quality. Easy to transport, and it looks great with both terrain and hand drawn maps.

These minis are excellent. The art is vibrant, the materials are sturdy, and they can take a mild bashing from traditional minis (sometimes dwarven fighters get excited). This is the second box I've purchased, and I couldn't be happier.

These figures are sturdy and the bases work perfectly. Would definitely get more. Do need more variety in the characters ( no halflings, etc. ). Definitely need more monster options as well. And more variety in skin tone, etc.

I’m very happy with the set. Good quality, resilient and much easier than buying minis and having to paint them good value for money as well. If I tried to buy the same minis in metal or plastic then had to paint them as well it would have been much more expensive. There is a good selection of figures and tokens which are versatile and could be used to represent other monsters, townsfolk or adventurers.
