Top entry level Dynamic XLR mic out there. Grab it before they hike the price.
Have been browsing countless sites and reviewing various brands and specifications of microphones, then accidentally stumbled upon this product. Then going through so many reviews and videos all overwhelmingly positive, decided to go ahead and get this mic. There so many excellent reviews about this mic and mine will be lost in the endless response and comments, but I felt that I should give my views. Packing: Ergonomic packing. Solid plastic box with foam coated mic holder and clip. Quality:Did not disappoint. It's built solidly, full metal set up. Built to last considerably longer. Plugged into the Scarlett interface without Phantom power, very pleased to note that it picked very minimal background and white noice. If there are some feeble noice this could be very easily rectified. Voice recording is more prone to low ends, suitable for high pitched vocals. Though it sounds a little darker when one gets closer. An ideal distance 3 to 4 finger lengths will provide that full richness to the voice. The gain has to be set at 2 to 3 o'clock or litte more to get the desired results. Low gain sounds feeble, but could be post processed. To get benefits from proximity effect, using a wind screen or pop filter would be more sensible, it not only blocks plosives but also protects the mic from spits and moisture. It's better not to have a on and off switch. These are prone to wear and tear. Handling noice is little on the higher side when hand held. Use a stand or boom arm. PROS: Fantastic for the price. :Great entry level mic. :Sounds full and warm that will be ideal for many. : Comparable to many higher end mics with a little tweak. CONS: So far None. Overall: A great cheap entry-level product suitable for Home studios, and live programs. You will be very pleased with the purchase. Go ahead.

Best in segment.
Mic feels very sturdy. Sounds very good vocals are crisp and clear Overall it looks soo good functionality is just plug and play. But there is a quality issues at xlr port the paint job is not good. But the port comes with gold plated pins that's a nice job. Overall value for money.

High quality studio recording in home environment.
I've been in music for 2 years. I bought a Samson C-01 condenser mic for my studio as a start up mic which is an excellent mic for its price. But the problem with all the condenser mic is that it picks up too much of the room. If our room is not properly acoustic treated it will pickup lot of reverb and ambience of the room. But for budget home studio owners like us it's too expensive to treat our room. We mostly record only vocals and use VST instruments for background music. So we need the vocal recording dry (without reverb) so that we can properly fit it into the mix. I was looking for lot of cheap solutions and finally decided to buy a dynamic mic in budget. Now coming to xm8500. This is the best budget dynamic mic you can get , period. The build quality is superb. Would love to have a on/off switch but it's ok. Now the main part, sound quality. As a dynamic mic the first thing you expect is low self noise and xm8500 is brilliant. Then as expected it picked up all my vocals really dry (without reverb) which is what you need for studio quality recording. The frequency response is not entirely flat. But u can work it out with the help of little EQ. Final verdict. If you are home studio owner in less than favourable acoustic environment just go for this mic it won't disappoint you. Record your vocals use proper EQ , compression and reverb and no one will know you are using low cost dynamic mic. This will be really good on vocals and percussive instruments like drums. If you want record bass or high frequency instruments like flute better go for a condenser mic.

Surprisingly Soft & Clear Sound in This Price Range
This microphone is honestly impressive for the price. Even if you don’t have a naturally great voice, it somehow adds a softness and smoothness that makes your recordings sound much better than expected. The clarity is very good, and it captures vocals in a warm and balanced way. For singing, podcasting, or simple recordings, it performs beyond expectations in this budget range. You really won’t believe the output quality at this price point. Too good to have it highly recommended! 😊

Great quality at a very low price
I was looking for a dynamic microphone and came across many reviews bought this one. Shure SM58 is supposed to be a benchmark for dynamic vocal microphone but costed around 9k. Many online reviews mentioned that this Behringer gave sound quality almost equal to SM58. So I decided to buy this. The mic came with a plastic hard case and foam inside with cut outs. Mic has excellent build quality and feels robust. The mic is very silent and does not pick up surrounding noise much. You need to be very close to the mic for the best sound which is normal with all dynamic mics. For my ears, the sound quality is equal for SM 58 at 20% of its price. Go for it if you are on a budget and this will not disappoint you.

Best in the budget
Great for vocals and speech. Using this in our church setup, no issues as of now. It performs way better than all our other mics which are costlier than this. The only and big con is that it does not has a on/off switch which can be problematic at time if you forget to mute it from the console.
