I purchased these shoes for my preteen who was entering a summer Junior Police Academy program, and they really impressed us! The design doesn’t feel cheap they look like solid, well-made athletic shoes. They provided enough height for decent ankle support, which was important with all the physical activity involved in the program. The fit is a little narrow, so if your child has wide feet or a broader toe bed, you might want to consider sizing up or trying a different style. These are great for active kids who need supportive, affordable athletic shoes that still look cool. If your child doesn’t have wide feet, I’d say go for it! We bought these shoes for our son to play 2nd grade basketball this year. He's very hard on shoes and these held up very well. It's actually the second year we've bought these for him and they are one of the only styles of shoe he's had that we were able to donate when he grew out of them! All the others he pretty much destroyed. Fits to size and were very comfortable for him. They are classic design too so easier to put on than some of the newer style shoes.

Son loves them. He got them for basketball and said they fit perfect and are comfortable. We did have to order a size up from his normal shoe size because the original pare we ordered in his actual size was too small.
