I purchased this product for a combination of data entry and as an additional way to control certain games, and it’s been an excellent choice. First impressions were great - the build quality feels premium, with a weighty design that gives it a solid and durable feel. The setup process was incredibly easy, connecting via Bluetooth without any issues. Performance wise, it’s fantastic. There’s very little latency, which is ideal for gaming, and the keypad reconnects quickly after disconnecting to save battery when not in use. The keys themselves are satisfying to press, making it enjoyable to use for both productivity and gaming. The programmable buttons are a useful feature, although slightly limited. They’re restricted to predefined actions and buttons, and it’s not possible to fully customize keybinds or set advanced actions, like pressing a key multiple times. Additionally, it doesn’t support assigning to F keys above F12.. While the numpad works perfectly without additional software, programming the macros requires yet another HP app. It’s not a deal breaker, but does add minor inconvenience. Owning this for 3 months, the keypad continues to perform as expected with no functionality issues. While it’s on the pricier side, I think it’s well worth it for the quality and functionality it provides. I highly recommend this numpad for anyone who relies on a numpad for heavy use, whether for work or gaming, and values a durable, mechanical feel.

After much consideration I bought one of these for the computer so I could enter the numbers more easily, the keypad feels really well made, has a very nice, positive action on the buttons and works very nicely giving more feedback when I am entering data than more normal keyboard's numbpad. The programmable buttons are very handy, and you get an assortment of icons you can place under the keycaps (or print your own for gaming macros). It is a good size for big hand, with nicely defined buttons that make it feel pleasant to work with. Overall I wish I'd got one years ago, as it's helped reduce the error rate when I'm entering the numbers.

Works well but I had to return in as it couldn’t emulate the function keys

This keypad is really well made and responsive. It took me around 30 seconds to connect it to my office laptop via bluetooth. As soon as I turned on the keypad (it has an on off switch at the top right) my laptop recogonised the device and asked if I wanted to connect. It was extremely simple and hassle free! The keypad does need 1 x AA battery, which is not included in the package. There are additional stickers inside the box for the programmable keys and instructions. Although I have no real use for the extra keys, it is nice to have the option. The keys are sturdy with a deep press and it's not particualrly loud when pressing on them, which is good. Very impressed with this keypad and well worth the money!

If you are considering buying this for Mac and need to program the keys, forget it. It doesn't work!! I spent HOURS trying, again, again. I got ONE key programmed, and nothing happened with the rest. I have NO idea how I even managed to get that one key done, because I did the exact same thing with the rest and didn't work at all. Furious!! If you are buying just for the keypad and pre-programmed keys, these work fine. Very responsive.

A really good Mechanical Number pad! Be sure to download the software for it to take advantage of all the extra features!

I bought this as I had got a very good deal on a TKL keyboard and it was cheaper to buy this separately than to buy the keyboard with numpad. The keys are brown switches which feel pretty good, but they aren't a brand I recognise (they are not Cherry). What has let this down somewhat is that it can only be paired with one computer at a time, I switch between a work laptop and a gaming PC and I was hoping just to be able to connect to the keypad from whichever computer I was using. This doesn't work and the pairing process has to be started from scratch. Not too difficult a job but not as nice as say the 8BitDo keypad which has Bluetooth, a USB dongle, and I think a wired connection. This is Bluetooth only and one PC at a time. Thankfully, it does remember your custom keybinds (a great feature) after repairing and the keybinds work even if you set them on another PC (this is great for me as my work PC blocks the Microsoft Store, where the HP Accessory App lives). For many, these criticisms won't mean much, and for those people I say go ahead and get this, just bear it in mind if you hop between different computers.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and really like it. I'm a bit of a novice with anything technical so I haven't been able to figure out the extra macro key programming yet but that wasn't my main reason for purchasing this item. I felt reassured purchasing an HP branded product. It's solidly built, with a bit of weight so that it doesn't slide around on my desk. Keys are nicely tactile and have the old school tapping/clicking sound/sensation that I prefer. Runs on a single AA battery (supplied). My MacBook recognised the Bluetooth connection immediately. Very easy set up and begin using within minutes and there are indication lights to assist with identifying that the device is powered on and connected. Having gone from a built in number pad on my PC laptop to a MacBook without one I really appreciate how much more streamlined this item has made my tasks and productivity is definitely up!
