Plasters are much heavier than paints, and need a primer with both high adhesion and the precise texture required to hold the plaster in place, both while working on the project and after it is completed. The texture in Quartz Primer provides a uniform surface that speeds up the plaster application by drawing the plaster more consistently from the trowel. Review: Necessary First Step in Creating Your Plaster Project! - I finished my fireplace remodel with Meodeds Concrete Look plaster, and the quartz primer is the necessary first step because its formulated to allow for better adhesion, durability and workability. I found it easy to use but a bit thinner than other primers I was used to. But the runny consistency did allow for the product to go a long way. I was able to roll two coats on my fireplace and still had a little left over. It's a little pricey, but the final outcome looks amazing! So I highly recommend starting your plaster project with this primer! Review: Very Good - I liked using this primer. It does give the medium a very fine grained structure. Very expensive though... so, not for most house projects.
