We are stronger when we laugh and humor makes it easier to talk about difficult issues. Cards Against Colonialism attempts to embrace the modern Native Culture, and allows us to learn and laugh at the same time.  " through this short and profound experience,  I realized how putting these stereotypes on the table can help with the decolonization of the individuals who would be playing the game. It also drives the conversation to a deeper level, shift paradigms and awakens consciousness. It leads to storytelling of one's culture, which can be liberating, transformative and set the trajectory for culture healing and revitalization.....and it is so hilariously wrong!"~Gerry Ebalaroza-Tunnell Hawaiian

Hilarious way to learn about colonization issues! Fun for the whole rez!
I bought this for my group to play during our annual open house (excuse for a holiday party, cough). We laughed our faces off! We are the environmental team for a tribal government in the US. Much of the humor relies on familiarity with rez life within the territory occupied by the US, but not all of it, and a lot is educational and would apply to colonization anywhere. Recommended!

Fun & Provides Opportunities for Discussion
As a Native person playing this with my Native family and friends, we had an absolute blast playing this game. The comments at the bottom of the cards added to discussion of both past and current issues. Whoever came up with the concept of this game is quite knowledgeable about history, culture, and stereotypes of Native people. Bravo!

Cool game, was relevant to both the Native who has experience living on the reservation/within Native communities as well as a lot of historical facts. Was fun to play!

Great Native variation on "Cards Against..." style games. I learned a lot, and will use it to spark discussion among non-Native folks. Thanks!
