If you are not familiar with Amazon Vine, it is basically Amazon trading free* products for honest reviews. You see a lot of Vine reviews that are cookie cutter and based on templates. I aim to make my reviews honest and non-cookie cutter (other than this intro and disclaimer). * These items are not actually free as Vine members pay income tax on the items they receive. Therefore, I will never order something from Vine unless I actually intend to use it. I think this is important for readers to understand because it means I will never order an item just to provide a fake five star review to a company. If I review something as good, it means I actually enjoyed using it or it fills its intended purpose correctly. Items that don't meet my expectations will be reviewed accordingly. Why I ordered this item: My AMD 5700x was having a hard time keeping up with my audio production needs. This CPU went on sale so I jumped on it. Likes: * This processor offers pretty extreme performance. Twelve full-featured cores is absolutely bonkers on a CPU that was on sale for $370. * This thing absolutely churns through Ableton. I can have 30 tracks with multiple plugins and effects on each one, and this CPU does not break 10% usage. I don't know how that is possible considering how hard the same song was on my old 5700x. It's the most powerful CPU I have ever used. * I have had no operational issues with this CPU at all. Everything on my new PC runs smoothly. Games are glassy and productivity apps are rock solid. No likes: * This CPU can get hot. I knew that going in and bought an adequate cooler. Still, it's something to consider. Would I pay full price for this product: I would pay the $370 I paid again because this processor is awesome. Final thoughts: I'm very happy with my choice on this processor. I had a lot of options and almost went with an X3D model, but I don't game much any more and I knew this would be better for audio production. One word of advice - if you are considering this CPU vs an Intel option, know that AMD processors have full-fledged cores while Intel uses Performance and Efficiency cores. Efficiency cores are not as powerful as the full featured cores AMD offers, so in multithreaded applications in general, AMD offers a more powerful experience when comparing similar core counts to Intel.

Blazing fast CPU, but watch those temps! Great value though.
The AMD Ryzen 9 9900X is plenty fast for my needs — handles everything I throw at it with ease. But coming from an old i7-7700K (which was quiet and cool), I'm not used to these sharp temp spikes to 95°C under load, even with water cooling and stock settings (no overclocking!). Fans get loud because of it. Had to limit voltage and tweak a bit to cap it at 75°C — much better now and stable. That's my only real gripe; otherwise, it's a beast. Paid a solid price for this unlocked desktop processor — worth it!

Great CPU if you can get it cheap like me!
Paid $315 for the CPU, with the prices of computer parts these days, I feel like this was a steal. It doesn’t miss a beat. Great value and was an excellent upgrade for my aging i9-10900k. I don’t over clock and used a Be quiet! CPU cooler with no issue.

A clear winner for serious computing, a performance monster
This beast is truly remarkable. I was in the process of building my next gen computer and I decided to go with AMD over Intel this time. I had just purchased an X870e Nova motherboard 96gb of RAM and just installed this 9900x chip, but my graphics card didn't come in, but I still wanted to test a game. So, I plugged in my 3070, put Control on Ultra 2k settings and actually managed to get 40+ frames. Anyway, after installing a 7900XTX, this thing is a beast!!!! The best part is, I can play any game on Ultra, right? But, this thing is literally only set on the default clock speed of 4.4ghz and can be tweaked to go up to 5.6ghz. It's overkill right now. I has handled everything I've thrown at it. 2k gaming, VR, AI workloads, high-bitrate video encoding, streaming, and (almost) all at the same time. I've had no stability issues or signs of excess heating ( I am using the Noctua NH-U12A chromax.Black); really, it's more CPU than I need even with the aforementioned tasks all at once. 12 fast cores, baby! This chip will give you peace of mind if you're a gamer wanting to keep up with the crowd and all of these high spec requirements in games now a days! Thanks AMD.

Great CPU!
This CPU has been solid. Have only used it for gaming and not for doing any CAD modeling or any editing, but I did get this CPU for just that. Word of warning though, if you have this CPU with an 800 series motherboard, be it from Asus, AsRock, MSi, etc, get the latest motherboard BIOS. I had issues gaming on multiplayer, where after about an hour and a half, the computer would freeze up and do a hard restart. Took me several weeks of troubleshooting to figure out that there is a BIOS update from Asus to address this kind of issue with the Ryzen 9 family of CPUs and the 800 series motherboards. Granted it took from February to late May before I actually had issues, but doing the update fixed the issues I was having.

All the power you need!
One of the best processors so far for me, super fast, if u work in unreal engine, its perfect

ryzen 9 9900x > intel i9 14900k any day of the week
amazing CPU AMD cooked with this one 12 cores 24 threads with such little power draw that you can keep it cool easily. and all the cores are performance cores not cheap "efficiency" cores like the intel cpus use

A transcoding beast with tons of overhead
This thing is a beast - admittedly it was more than I needed when I got it, but I'm pleased so far. I do some gaming but moderate at best - this is paired with an RTX-5070 and the CPU isn't holding it back. The AM5 has pins in the socket, so installation is easy. The main reason for getting this is that do a fair bit of video compression and transcoding, and it's great to be able to run those intensive tasks and still have some CPU overhead where I can use other Windows utilities at the same time. I'm using a cheap air cooler, too, and temps are not an issue. I haven't overclocked this, but that'll be a potential future trial.

A beast of a processor
It's a beast. AMD's generated 5600G series themselves are still not entirely irrelevant till now. So with its 12 cores, 24 threads, I hope it will remain relevant for next 6-8 years easily. And forget about being stressed, everything for it looks to be just a walk in the park with utilisation barely going beyond 10% during gaming of modern FPS and racing tiltles of 2020s, even if we consider maximum load on the GPU. It does not come with a bundled cooler, but right so. With its all those fire powers, an aftermarket Good quality liquid cooler is a must in my view. Temperature remains around 46 to 55 degrees at idle to near idle state and it gets heated up quickly to 70-75 degrees even when utilisation just increase to 10%-12% momentarily, before the cooler kicks in. As all we know, price is not a VFM these days with AI demand disrupting hardware pricing driving nuts...

It runs Minecraft and muck well
I had an Intel core i7 14700kf but 14th gen intel is very unstable and crashes with everything so I switched to AMD it runs all games and programs well and it’s good for streaming but I do wish it had more cores for a Ryzen 9 when the Intel Core i5-14600K which is basically the lowest end cpu intel has from that gen (no one would buy an i3) has more cores but it’s easy to cool if you have an AIO and it’s powerful.
