I was a bit hesistant to buy the Yi camera device (i eventually bought the 3-pack one) because of all the negative reviews. But after a week with the devices installed, i can honestly say that most of the negative reviews are unwarranted! In summary, this is one fantastic product! PROS: >> It was absolutely easy to install, and this is enough reason to buy the Cam! >> The app is a joy to use; although you cannot view all 3 cams at once, it is just as easy to access one camera at a time. Fair enough >> Contrary to popular comments, YOU CAN VIEW ARCHIVE/HISTORICAL FOOTAGE ON THE Yi CAM ONCE YOU HAVE AN SDCard IN THE CAMERA! Very useful feature. >> I had no issues with Wifi stability, even with the 3 cameras are on different floors >> The motion sensor is an absolute JOY! It works seamlessy and effectively CONS >> It keeps annoying you with prompts to upgrade to the Cloud version. That is the only part i find annoying. >> You absolutely need a memory/SDcard to enable you download and review footage. I would advice a 32Gb memory card (Amazon has many budget options), but NOTE THAT THIS WILL ONLY BACKUP A FEW/6 HOURS OF footage. If you really want more, then opt for a 256GB card. >> I was not able to use the “share feature” to give people access to the cameras… it just never shared to their emails. Best way is to share the newly created email/password details, just rememer NOT TO USE THE SAME PASSWORD as your general email! All in, this is a wonderful device by the YI guys; absolute easy to use, very clear 2k camera video quality, and the motion sensor feature just makes this the BEST VALUE FOR MONEY among home security CCTV cameras. a solid 5/5.

I’ve been using the YI Pro 2K Home Security Camera for a while now, and overall, I’m really impressed with its performance. The 2K resolution provides clear and detailed video, making it easy to see what’s happening in my home. The night vision is also quite good, offering a sharp image even in low-light conditions. One of my favorite features is AI human detection, which reduces false alerts from pets or moving shadows. The two-way audio is another plus, allowing me to communicate with family members or even deter potential intruders. Setup was simple, and the YI Home app is user-friendly, making it easy to monitor the feed remotely. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that some features, like cloud storage, require a subscription. While you can use a microSD card as an alternative, it would be nice to have more free storage options. Overall, this is a great security camera for the price, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable indoor surveillance solution!

They’re easy to connect and view remotely via app. Detail is very clear and can set up alerts. I just use them to look every now and then on vacation. Be cautious, aa time passes there are more and more ads/pressure to subscribe - a lot of pop ups unless you want to pay a monthly fee.

If I could give it a zero rating i would. I’m extremely frustrated with this camera and the app experience. The constant ads make it almost unusable. Every time I try to view my camera feed, I’m forced to sit through ads before I can even see what’s going on. It completely defeats the purpose of having a security camera that’s supposed to provide quick, real-time access. What’s even worse is that if you switch between multiple cameras, it triggers another ad each time. So instead of quickly checking different areas, you’re stuck watching ads over and over again. In situations where timing matters, this is incredibly inconvenient and unacceptable. On top of that, there are times when the ads have background voiceovers that continue or overlap awkwardly, which makes the whole experience feel glitchy and poorly designed. I understand companies need revenue, but this level of interruption is excessive, especially for a product that’s supposed to provide security and peace of mind. Right now, it does the opposite. I would not recommend this camera unless these issues are addressed.
