Doctor Who Return to Earth (Wii)

Excellent product and great value for money. Very fast delivery and well packaged. I bought this as a gift. I have had a go at this game and love it. I do find some bits of it quite challenging, though.

Good for a 7 year old who likes Doctor Who. It is puzzle based and perhaps these could could be more varied (you have to collect the right colored crystals before you can shoot at the associated inanimate targets to progress the game) but my son likes it and is especially good at using the sonic screwdriver to navigate the electronic door mechanisms when he has to. I think it is quite atmospheric being based on a seemingly abandoned mining ship near Jupiter with Cybermen (and possibly Daleks? ..not got to them yet) as well as some snippets of in-character dialogue from the Doctor and his assistant between levels. We do have intermittent problems getting the Wii to run it though (a bit hit and miss on our machine and another I've tried (moving Wii helps I think)) so once loaded we leave it in the Wii to avoid the problem!

Slow and boring and doesn't seem to go anywhere. Such a shame. Maybe it picks up a bit in later levels but I just got too bored with it to find out.

I just bought this for my doctor who mad 4 year old, and accepted that he probably wouldnt be able to play it yet but he loves watching anyway...I can't really find anything positive to say about it - The graphics are awful, the gameplay is very unimaginative and repetitive, the controls are frustrating and unresponsive, and the level design is poor.I'd have been unhappy with it a year or two ago, but now that there are FREE doctor who games available online from the BBC that are vastly superior in every possible way imaginable, I can't believe that I actually paid money for this effort...In short - Avoid at all costs - Don't be tempted to buy it anyway because its cheap, because you will probably play it once, eject the disk and put it to the bottom of the pile... Google BBC Doctor Who instead - those games are great... And did I mention FREE ?

As a massive Dr who fan, it's not possible to not love this game!However, I have to be biased: it is not easy to control and play.But, I think you'll really enjoy the game... if you are addicted to Dr Who! :D

...nämlich weil sie dieses Spiel auf den Markt gebracht haben, ohne einen Beta-Test zu machen.Die Steuerung ist "fummelig", aber annehmbar. Der gute Doctor bzw. Amy wandert zum Beispiel gerne mal ein, zwei Schritte nach rechts oder links, wenn man versucht sich umzudrehen. An sich nicht schlimm; wenn man aber auf einer 1x1 "Meter" großen Plattform steht, von der man nicht herunterfallen darf, etwas suboptimal.Die Story ist nicht besonders elaboriert - für ein so billiges Spiel auch noch in Ordnung. Zumindest dan, wenn man sich nicht an Plotholes stört, die sogar das Ende von "Last of the Time Lords" wie einen Geniestreich aussehen lassen... ("Return to Earth" baut netterweise auf dem Spiel "Evacuation Earth" auf, sodass man Ivy wiederbegegnet und zumindest die Charaktere aus dem Vorgänger gegen Ende mal auf einem Computerbildschirm sieht.)Was aber wirklich furchtbar ist, sind sich häufende Geschicklichkeitspassagen, die so konzipiert sind, dass man nicht einmal annäherend genug Zeit hat, das zu tun, was man tun soll. Hinzu kommen Daleks und Cybermen, die - um das Kämpfen gegen sie überhaupt möglich zu machen - plötzlich ziemlich leicht zu töten sind (so sterben Daleks bevorzugt, weil sie verbrennen, obwohl sie aus Metall sind, oder irgendwo herunterfallen, obwohl sie doch eigentlich schweben können...).Wenn man nicht gerade eine der frustrierenden Stellen erwischt, die ich eben erwähnt habe, dann ist das Spiel so einfach, dass es von einem Kind durchgespielt werden könnte - was an sich auch gut so wäre (immerhin denke ich, es soll für Kinder sein). Leider gibt es dann eben immer wieder besagte Passagen, die es selbst geübten, erwachsenen Spielern fast unmöglich machen.Positives:- Original Stimmen von Matt Smith und Karen Gillan- Anknüpfung auf Evacuation Earth- nettes Konzept, den Wii-Controller als Sonic Screwdriver umzusetzen (leider nur mäßig gut realisiert)Negatives:- unausgewogener Schwierigkeitsgrad- Antiklimatisch (mit anderen Worten: Gegen Ende wird es immer weniger spannend, statt mehr)- etwas unlogische Kämpfe gegen altbekannte Gegner (man hätte doch auch andere Monster nehmen können, wenn Cybermen und Daleks in einem Videospiel nicht zu besiegen sind!)- undurchdachte / nicht getestete Dinge (z.B. muss man manchmal mit dem Sonic Screwdriver Bedienfelder treffen, die z.T. so blöd positioniert sind, dass man sie gar nicht sieht und somit raten darf, ob man den Controller über den Bildschirm, darunter, nach rechts oder links richten muss - von der genauen Position ganz zu schweigen.)- mehr als lächerlicher "Endkampf"Fazit:Ich bin ein großer Doctor Who Fan und kann trotzdem nur vom Kauf des Spiels abraten. Selbst Fans sind damit sehr schlecht bedient. Es gibt keine witzigen Dialoge, die doch eigentlich den Charme der Serie ausmachen, eine Story ist quasi nicht vorhanden (was bei den Spielen ja leider zum Normalfall geworden ist) und das einzige, das man wirklich genießen kann, sind die Originalstimmen.Spielspaß gab es für mich beinahe gar keinen - allerdings bin ich wohl auch fast 10 Jahre älter als die Zielgruppe des Spiels (für die es wiederum viel zu schwer ist).Auch wenn es hier eher billig angeboten wird, ist es traurigerweise das Geld nicht wert.
