One of my favorite seasons of any show ever!
This show is among the few (sadly, the VERY few!) on TV that can be enjoyed on so many different levels. Looking for a show that successfully pulls off ALL different types of comedy, ranging from clever, subtle wit to goofy, outrageous fun? How about a show with mysteries that can be surprisingly compelling and better paced/plotted than many of TV's so called 'serious' crime dramas offer? Perhaps you're interested in hearing the most sharp and brilliant dialogue found since Buffy and Gilmore Girls?! Maybe you just want to see one of the (in my opinion, of course!) single best friendships ever depicted on TV in Shawn/Gus or the sneakily touching and surprisingly deep relationship between Shawn and his father...yes, there's a surprising amount of real heart beneath the show's light and happy surface! One reason I've always been such a crime show buff is that these shows allow you to 'visit' various interesting locations and sub-cultures every week along with the mystery-solving heroes. This season, which I think is still the show's very best, we get glimpses into everything from an American Idol---er, excuse me, American DUOS reality show, a private school for gifted and socially awkward, a natural history museum, a Spanish soap opera and 'high fashion' modeling. The characters are incredibly vibrant, layered and consistent (a rarity on TV these days!) and are brought to life by a cast which is not only supremely talented but seems to---*gasp*---genuinely appreciate their fans and love their jobs.Psych is clever, mood-boosting and just plain hilarious fun, but as other reviewers and I have mentioned, there's also real emotional depth and insight lurking underneath the show's delightfully fluffy exterior.Veteran fans: I'd love to gush about this gem of a show with you anytime! Potential new fans: congratulations on discovering the best show on TV, and welcome to this witty, spirited and mood-lifting adventure!

If you're looking @ Season 2, you probably already know Psych is just hilarious
Course, the price came down while my order was in transit :( Oh, well. What can I say? If you're looking @ Season 2, you probably already know Psych is just hilarious. We watch these episodes again and again. The dynamic duo of Sean and Gus was a great show situated on USA after Monk...Season 2 includes:American Duos (Tim Curry...need I say more? "I feel like I've been incarcerated in a blueberry.")65 Million Years Off (Paleopsychic Sean?)Psy vs Psy (It's a psychic-off. Guess who wins.)Zero to Murder in Sixty Seconds (Sean soups up the blueberry)And Down the Stretch Comes Murder (Henry in Hawaiian shirts?)Meat is Murder but Murder is also Murder (Sean writing pointed horoscopes, making Lassie walk backwards through doorways)If You're So Smart, Then Why Are You Dead? ("Phsysics: The Physics of Psychics")Rob-Bye Baby (Sean and Juliet pretend to be married)Bounty Hunters! (Kevin Sorbo as a Bounty Hunter)Gus's Dad May Have Killed an Old Guy (The Christmas special)There's Something About Mira (Poor lovestruck Gus)The Old and the Restless (Henry goes undercover at the retirement home)Lights, Camera,...Homicido (they altered the theme song for this one...always evidence of a great episode. You know that's right.)Dis-Lodged (Henry is a member of a secret society? What?!)Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion (Think Sean & Gus meet Zoolander)Shawn (and Gus) of the Dead (An escaping mummy...also Bruton Gaster, photographer)Something for everyone on every disc. 11 hrs and 26 minutes' worth!

Fun!
Not near the level of Monk, but still a lot of light-hearted fun.Being a former chess nut, I always try to see if the positions on the board are legit. At the end of episode 7 Shawn checkmates his dad, but it's actually an illegal move because Shawn is in check (and fails to get out of check). Shawn will win the game, but it will take him at least one more move (BxR before the Knight move).

Don't be a gooey chocolate chip cookie...
CAUTION: Watching Psych while enjoying milk may cause said milk to come out your nose. Please drink responsibly. This show is freakin' hilarious. There are a few sitcoms that have made me laugh, even one hour comedy/dramas that I have found amusing, but I have never watched a television show that has made me laugh as much or as consistently as Psych.Shawn Spencer is a hyper-observant son of a police detective, who frequently calls in tips to the police hotline to solve crimes. After calling in one too many tips, the police bring him in for questioning. The head detective ("Lassiter a/k/a Lassie") thinks that Shawn must be involved in the crimes to have given all the tips. To avoid arrest, Shawn tells the detective he is a psychic and the "spirits" give him the information about the crimes. Thus begins a beautiful relationship between the Chief, Lassie, Shawn and his best friend Gus. Shawn & Gus open "Psych", their psychic detective agency which leads to all sorts of hijinx.Thank you to everyone involved in making Psych and USA for airing it, because quite frankly it is the funniest show on tv, hands down. The cast is perfect, the premise interesting and the antics are hilarious! Just remember, avoid projectile milk. Now, who wants some pineapple? Are you a fan of delicious flavor?

Loved it!
The first two seasons of this show were slow and a little difficult to stay interested but the Gus and Shawn combo kept me interested. I didn't even like James Roday for the role of Shawn at first. I felt it was a bit off, not sure why but as the show matured I really found myself really enjoying his acting. After 8 seasons and watching the musical, no one on this planet could replace James Roday for this role. Gus played by Dulé Hill was my favorite character. His need for food, his sympathy crying and or his "scared" reactions were priceless. Put the two of them together and the show was unique and enjoyable.I could go in to detail about everyone from Timothy Omundson who played Lassiter, Maggie Lawson who played Juliet and the Chief of police Karen played by Kirsten Nelson and Shawn's dad Henry played by Corbin Bernsen who rocked the father role and throughout the show provided Shawn with valuable life lessons that would help him as he grew up.The hand to the head or the singing of "Suck it" or their jumping around in excitement over some cases and Shawn's key phrase you'll notice often "I've heard it both ways" made it so fun to watch.I "marathoned" the show after watching 2 seasons on Netflix and couldn't stop. Not a fan of Musicals and I even watched that. Since then I've been buying up the 8 seasons, musical, Halloween special and the book off Amazon, so i'll probably copy and paste this review on each season.Hands down my favorite show and highly recommend it! Already re-watching it again with the dvd's i've ordered because I wanted to see the special features and gag reels.

More fun than a bowl full of pineapple!
Have watched the whole series, but love the deleted scenes, bloopers and Audio commentary. Really adds to the enjoyment of the show, and now I can rewatch it whenever I need a laugh!
