Protective Diet Plant-Based Broth Mix - makes 12 quarts

Thankfully there are one or two boxed vegan broths out there that are clean - organic, no preservatives, no additives, no oil, no sugar, no weird stuff. They did the job when you needed a broth. Serviceable. But not yummy. Not "Oooooo!". Not "what else can I put this in?". And never "I could drink this by itself". Well.......happy days are here now! This broth is ALL that. I put it in salad dressing last week. It's a broth mix, it's a seasoning, and it's a dry powder that can sit in the cabinet for a loooonnnng time (apx two years). Not that that's going to ever happen but I do love it's compact size (each jar equals 12 quart boxes of broth). This broth tastes buttery to me - smooth, fresh, high-end. I'm totally thrilled - my pantry just got upgraded big-time. Yay!

This is the most delicious broth I have ever used. It has a wonderful umami taste and you can smell the fresh herbs the minute you open the BPA free jar. Start your soup with this broth mix, sprinkle on pasta, top rice with a shake of broth to boost flavor and nutrition .. drink it like a warm cup of comfort! Anywhere you would use boxed or canned broth you can use this and your health and taste buds will thank you.

This is an organic and vegan quick broth option. The primary base of it is nutritional yeast. I like the fact that it is very low sodium. It’s excellent that it is a vegan option. I think the cost of this product is excessive at $25.

This is the best broth mix you could possibly purchase! The ingredients are hand-chosen and meticulously produced for health protection and protection of the environment - no more broth boxes to dispose of! Its rich aroma and silky texture are evident from the time you first open the jar. I've been cooking with purchased boxes of vegetable broth (no oil) for almost four years now, and this broth mix is head and shoulders above any "clean" broth I've been able to find. It's versatile and can be used for so many things. And the fact that it makes 48 cups (12 quarts) of broth from this small, environmentally friendly container is a kitchen storage dream. It will be excellent for travel, too. Don't hesitate to purchase this product. It's my only broth going forward!

This is my third or forth purchase. It’s so versatile. As someone who is a vegan/plant based and prefers a low sodium diet, this is the best out there! Super tasty, minimal salt, and tons of simple flavor with a mild cheesy flavor as it does contain nutritional yeast, but that’s one of the ingredients that I like. I use this as a seasoning for beans, and veggies steamed with a broth made from this. I even use it in my tofu scramble. Get creative with it as it’s not just for veggie broth or soups. Not an overwhelming or over salty flavor, just perfect.

This broth mix is the bomb! I made one of my favorite recipes from ProtectiveDiet.com (Lettuce Wraps) and substituted the broth mix for the veggie broth. What a difference! So tasty. Absolutely fresh tasting and knowing that I am adding the best ingredients (check out the ingredients list!) to my food is amazing. When I first opened the container - the smell got me! It’s delicious smelling. Then when I looked at the powder - it was silky smooth and when I added it to cool water - it dissolved quickly and evenly. The flavor really is exceptional and knowing that this small container makes 12 quarts of broth - this is a money saver! Now I can use a small amount of broth mix and not waste the container of veggie broth. This will become a staple in my house for sure!

I bought this as a replacement for Knorr's vegetable broth cubes, which have MSG in them. This product was highly disappointing, as it has no real flavor in comparison and smells/tastes like nothing more than nutritional yeast. We use nutritional yeast on many of our foods all the time, so know what it tastes like. This is exorbitantly priced for nothing more than nutritional yeast (it can be bought for about $6.00) for a larger quantity than this jar. This broth mix has a few other seasonings which do not come into play taste-wise. I will be making my own brand of this plant-based broth including all the other ingredients for about $10. Very disappointed... in flavor and price.

I’m so glad I bought this! The thought of having this one little jar on my shelf versus 12 boxes of vegetable broth blows my mind!I got it in the mail today and opened it while I was still in the car. I did a pinky finger taste test. It’s delicious right out of the jar!When I got home from work I made my first recipe using this broth mix with the newest Protective Diet tortilla soup recipe. Oh my gosh! It was delicious. I could smell the broth as I was mixing the ingredients. It made my mouth start watering. It was a good thing this is a very quick recipe! This broth mix has not left me disappointed that’s for sure. I will be purchasing this again, again, and again.
