Excellent and ergonomic tool.
Dewalt has always created high-quality products and this utility knife is no different. First, it’s extremely sharp at least the razor blade is when you first open it. Second, unlike other utility knives this one is a folding knife. It has an excellent clasp that’s easy to manage. What I really love about this is it has a clip on the back like a pen holder, but larger and heavy duty so that you could clip this onto the front of your apron or your apron pocket or if you’re a guy onto your pocket or a belt loop and it will not come out or fall off of your clothing or work apron. The razor is very easy to change. I use this on boxes and for straight slashing things open, but it is fine enough to use as a craft knife for any type of paper craft or it could be used for leather crafting or anything where you need a fine straight cutting edge. I last used it to cut out a small window on a tiny Tag I was making. Much like an X-Acto knife. The nice thing about this utility knife, however, is that it has a good wide body and so ergonomically, you can grip it a lot more easily than you can. One of the utility knives that is shaped more like a pen or pencil. This gives it more workability. In addition, the razor blades when it gets dull on one side is able to be flipped around and use the other side so one blade is going to last quite some time. This is different than the kind that has blades that break off. I am really thrilled that I bought this utility knife. It’s the best one I’ve ever had!

Pros and cons.
This particular DeWalt utility knife came with a few surprises. Let's do a pro and con on it. Pro, tough little bugger, and although it is small it's built with some beef to it. Pro, blade replacement is a snap, easier than any other utility knife I've ever used. Pro,the most secure and safe utility knife that I've ever used, DeWalt in their wisdom chose to make it a folder, most utility knives require that the blade be pushed out of the body by the thumb, and too many times have I had the blade lose its lock and start sliding back and forth while cutting, most disconcerting, this is a folding knife, the blade locks in both the closed and open positions, you would practically have to snap the knife in half to break the lock on it. Pro, the belt clip on is a wire clip, rather than a flat metal clip, it makes it much easier to get it in and out of your pocket or off of your belt comparative to other designs. Con, the night has to be opened and closed using both hands because it requires the depression of the lock button to open or close it. Con, the price is deeper than usual or a utility knife, but to add a pro to that it's really a quality tool, we all know DeWalt builds good tools, but they also have a price that matches that quality. I can't find anything significant as a con, some piddly personal preferences at best, it's a quality knife from a quality company, you pay for DeWalt, but you always get what you pay for.

Nice little compact utility blade flipper
Awesome little knife for a reasonable price. I go through lots of these little folding utility knives on the construction site, as I often lose them or they "walk off." This one does everything you expect it to... Quick blade change, flips smoothly. My only complaint is that I wish it was a little bigger, but I fully expected it to be compact considering it is the Atomic edition, so I can't knock it for that. Feels a little awkward to flip with my larger hands after going through so many full-sized Milwaukee fastbacks over the years, but I'll get used to it. Also, if you're like me and use the butt end of these as a hammer, this one might not stand up to the repeated abuse of that, as it isn't all metal construction like the Fastbacks, nor does it even really have the correct shape. All in all, a solid little knife for the price.

Durable, Compact, and Easy to Use — A Must-Have Utility Knife
This Dewalt utility knife has quickly become my go-to for all kinds of projects. It feels solid in the hand but is still lightweight and compact, which makes it easy to carry around or slip into a pocket. The one-handed opening is smooth and reliable — super handy when you’re working and need to access the blade quickly. I’ve used it for everything from cutting boxes to trimming materials for home repairs, and it’s held up great without any wobble or looseness over time. I really like the secure blade lock and the quick-change feature, which lets me swap blades in seconds without any hassle. It’s also nice knowing it won’t accidentally open or release the blade when stored. Overall, it’s a smart, durable design that lives up to the Dewalt reputation for quality. For the price, this knife is tough to beat — a dependable tool that’s built for everyday use.

Nice feel, solid build, comfortable grip
Nice utility knife. Feels solid and comfortable in the hand. Blade unlock button is large enough to use with gloves on if needed. The knife kindof/sortof flips open with some practice. The blade doesn't completely lock in the closed position but there's friction enough to keep it closed in a pocket. The unlock button releases the friction and with some practice you can flip it full open where the blade locks solidly. I like that the pocket/belt clip is removable with a torx screwdriver. Easy mod. The knife is a little on the heavy side compared with some other pocket knife-style utility knives (e.g., the Gerber EAB). I'd definitely slip in the pocket of work pants; I might opt for a lighter EDC option though.

Stop here, buy this one
I own a couple of these so I can always have one misplaced and have another one aviaibile. The well designed functionality make them easy and safe to use and well worth the few extra dollars over the generic utility knives. Here are some of the features I really appreciate with the DeWalt: 1. It is very well balanced with a crisp blade locking mechanism. Why is this important. I open and close the knife with one hand using the flick of a wrist. This makes this quick and simple. It also means I am always closing it when I am done since it is such a simple action to complete. 2. The body of knife is slim and durable. It slips in the pocket easily and has a belt clip. I can drop this thing on the pavement fifteen times over, and I am not worried about it breaking. While the knife is made of metal, the main body of the knife is encased in ABS plastic so if you inadvertently slip it in the same pocket as your cell phone, you need to worry about it tearing up your screen. 3. Blades are simple to change. On cheaper knives it sometimes takes so wiggling which is not something I really want to do with a razor between in my fingers. I use the DeWalt knives so often, I rotate the blades every few weeks, and swap them ever month or two. Note, that Amazon offers great options for high quality 20 or 50-pack off-brand blade refills that work perfectly and are reasonably priced. Keep the blade fresh and the knife will continue to cut through everything like warm butter! You can normally find this on Amazon for around $10 - great deal!
