You get what you pay for.
First of all the camera appears to be ok. It's a nice compact size and takes a decent photograph. On the down side the battery charger supplied was the old fashioned type with three prongs instead of the one illustrated which has a USB connection. Also the battery supplied looks nothing like it's illustration. It could have been made anywhere and I don't know if it's a genuine item or not.I have checked the serial number of the camera with Canon who stated that this camera was not intended for sale in Europe consequently they can not offer a guarantee for it. As for the cost of the item, check out the price or a brand new camera sold by Canon which at the moment is unavailable due to logistic problems.

a rather basic camera for a fancy price.
I think the cons outweigh the perks. The battery has a short life, you can't charge it from your computer( car or powerpack) only by taking the battery out and charging from mains. You have to buy the USB 2 male to mini B cable to put your photos on your computer - it doesn't come as standard and the cable won't act as a charger either. The operation of the picture taking is sluggish and I can't choose my mode - or if I can I haven't yet discovered how to do it.I learned more from the reviews about this camera than I did from its book of directions.Quality of photos well it take a lot and then you chose what you like.I believe the idea is you store all your photos in the cloud and you transfer them using wifi. But what if there is no wifi( where I am going I don't bank on there being any wifi for a long periods of time.)I am not really tech wise either so storing photos in clouds doesn't suit me at all.(if I had known all this I would certainly not have bought this camera).Pros - its small and light. All in all, I think I will go back to my Lumix and stick with them. For more than £339 the Canon is a rip off.

Nice camera that outperforms phones.
As a simple "point and shoot " camera, it works fairly well. The zoom , being optical, allows you to get finer distance shots than those of most phone cameras. It is certainly small and fits easily into your trouser pockets with ease. The bulk of the shell is metal, rather than plastic which makes for a quality feel to the camera.Good points: simple to use in "auto mode" , takes better snaps than most phones, light and very portable.Points not so good: low light shots not brilliant . Flash infill hard to set as are most of the manual controls Menus. Not as easy to switch to video mode (except when you don't want it). The battery is very small and will only last about 125 shots (I wondered why Amazon suggested spare batteries), and takes 2 hours to recharge.I am fairly pleased with this camera but I am not sure I would have been had I not purchased it at a good price.
