Celebracion De La Ciudad

Without a doubt the best CD I have bought in 2017 (in addition to the rest of the best ones I have bought this year, lol) --- this band has so much groove.... I love em.The show is absolutley inspired, the band is kicking arse, the crowd is loving it, and the recording is really really god. If you like MMJ, this is maybe the best release they have ever put out.If you like GROOVY progressive, challenging southerern-ish styled rock and roll that takes no prosiners, than this is for YOU. The price used isn't bad either.Oh, and if you haven't heard the Drive By Truckers, that is another band you must hear!!!!

This is a great live album to have for any MMJ enthusiast or for the future enthusiast. Sound quality is great. The list of songs on this short set list is strong.Get this also because it is not the easiest to grab- it may not be available forever either. Also, for iTunes-ers, this is not available. Buy it. Do it.

Awesome performances with tons of energy and great audio quality to boot. Nice to have solid live performances of a few of the Evil Urges tracks. Supposedly the songs were taken from two shows, so I'm not sure why there's less than 50 minutes of music. Still 5 stars. Gold standard version of Dondonte.

A must have for all MMJ fans. The opening jam, Evil Urges, is spectacular...especially in the live setting. Gideon, Where to Begin, Phone Went West, and Dondante are powerful. Would like to catch them in Louisville, Kentucky soon. And looking forward to their ACL performance in a couple of weeks.

this is an awesome album i recommend it to anyone who likes real music not that auto tuned bsyou will not be disappointed with this album it is most defiantly one of the best live albums of the21st century.

I am not one to review . I think of this one like a sort of collectors item. A little gem. It is little though.

Great new CD from MMJ I reccomend OKANOKOS above all. Then any. Eveil Urges Is special. This CD newer. It has some songs already on other CD's but It's super versions.

Ich schreibe diese Rezension eigentlich nur, weil ich von einer anderen (2-Sterne) Rezension zutiefst verwundert war. Habe ziemlich alle My Morning Jacket Alben - und für mich ist "Celebracion de la Ciudad Natal" nicht nur das atmosphärisch und musikalisch beste Album der Band, sondern vermutlich auch eines der besten Live-Alben überhaupt. Zur besseren Einordnung kann ich sagen, dass ich My Morning Jacket im letzten Herbst im Rahmen der "Waterfall" Tour in Köln live gehört habe - und im Vergleich mit diesem Live-Album war zumindest die Performance in Köln eine herbe Enttäuschung. Kernpunkt dieser Enttäuschung war rückblickend, dass Jim James' Stimme damals nach vielen den eng vorangehenden Auftritten wohl schon ziemlich gelitten hatte - und ich einfach die Qualität von "Celebracion de la Ciudad Natal" als Erwartung im Ohr hatte. Für mich der "Goldstandard" dessen, was My Morning Jacket als Band kann und ausmacht.

This was my introduction to this fantastic US band. Great CD. The other reviews here are spot on.

Von Shazam habe ich mich in die Irre führen lassen: es führte mich zur Live-Version des Stücks "Gideon", dabei begeistert mich absolut die Studioversion! Aber schnell schnell bestellt und schon reingefallen. Jim James kann im Studio seltsamerweise annehmbar singen, aber live ist das - da fehlen einem die Worte! Die Gruppe könnte mehr aus sich machen.
