Product Description Out-of-print in the U.S. CD reissue. Stolen Moments is the singer/songwriter's 10th and highest charting album upon it's release. The greatness of this particular album, is that the writing is so mature and the stories in the songs so moving; it culminates all the promise and greatness displayed in all of Hiatt's previous work. Like all Hiatt albums Stolen Moments is a candy-store to colleague musicians to find songs to cover and record them within their own style. Songs were covered by Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Ilse DeLange among others. 'Thirty Years Of Tears' and especially 'Through Your Hands' (covered by Joan Baez, Don Henley and David Crosby) are according to critics absolute masterpieces of soul-searching Americana. fine moments
This is an album that I used to have on tape (musicassette) and I thought that it was about I had this and Slow Turning on CD. It kicks off with Real Fine Love, which I feel is one of the greatest songs ever written. Only John Hiatt could write a song like Seven Little Indians. It is delicate and amusing and different. There isn't so much of a full-on rocking nature as on Slow Turning but it is a fine mixture with the title track tackling his times of alcohol abuse. Great stuff.

An Amazing Album
I disagree with the only other reviewer on here who's written a review of this album. That review makes it sound quite mediocre compared to some of John Hiatt's other work, and says that many of the songs on here lack something which would make them more memorable. There's not a bad song on this fantastic album and, in fact, all the songs are brilliant and definitely have that certain something to make them all sparkle. Many of the songs are very emotional and I'm sure would resonate with just about everybody, and, as usual, his voice is just incredible and tugs at the heartstrings! To me, this album is one of John Hiatt's best and I never get tired of hearing it. DO NOT be put off by the half-hearted review by the previous reviewer on here. This is am AMAZING album and worth every penny.
